Star of the Sea Bed & Breakfast

My mom and I just returned from a three night stay at Star of the Sea, and we are already dreaming of returning! From reading a book on the gorgeous balcony overlooking the ocean to enjoying a delicious meal in our beautiful room while watching the many birds flying around, we had the most wonderful and relaxing time! Eva and Tom are kind and fantastic hosts, the breakfasts were delicious, and the room (we stayed in the McNab Room) was spacious and incredibly comfortable. Thank you for such a wonderful vacation, and we can’t wait to come back!

If I could give 10 stars I would. They have thought of every detail. Their home is impeccable and so charming. Our room was so romantic and the bed was sooo cozy. We had two afternoon naps just to get more time in the bed lol. Their pool has such a beautiful view and was a great temp. Their breakfast is phenomenal. Their hospitality was unmatched as well. Also just close enough to town.I would recommend this place to anyone that values service and hospitality.

Amazing place to stay, highly recommend! The views and room itself set the vibe for our trip. We were able to have an ocean view breakfast each morning (the breakfasts that the hosts make were unbelievable). It is so charming, modern, yet holds history in the building. The hosts are very friendly. It’s only a 20 ish minute drive from downtown Halifax. Would absolutely stay here again!

My wife and I stayed here when we came home to Halifax for our wedding back in October. We got ready for the wedding and did our first look here as well. We never had a chance to write a review until now.Both Sarah and I can't say anything but great things about this place. The rooms and views are beautiful and the food was amazing. The lighting in here was great for our photos. Tom and Eva were so so so nice and very accommodating! We've recommended this B&B to everyone we know.

Beautiful boutique B & B. Design is detailed oriented. Enjoy the stay. Best place to relax and get away (20 minutes) from Halifax. German Breakfast is my choice. It was perfect if we did not encounter misunderstanding when we checked in. We arrived around noon while the check in time was 3. Since it is outside of Halifax. We attempted to have early checkin if available (which we almost always have it when available). We entered the Guest Entrance and said Hello approx. 4 times but no answer. We walked into an area with “office” sign but there was no one. We kept walking around to find someone but we walked in an unlocked area with “private “ sign and still found no one. Then, we met the hostess who was very upset and quite hostile complaining that we should not get into her Private Area which we did not know what to do when no one answered our “Hellos”.My wife was very upset as well because we never encounter this kind of hostile situation. Luckily, I initiated an effort to explain this misunderstanding later in the day and it was resolved and I believe we all were not upset any more. We enjoyed two nights’ stay here.Rule for this B & B:-1) Ring the doorbell and wait for the host.2) Don’t attempt to open any door with “private “ sign near it, even no one answer.3) call the host if no one answer at the entrance.

Eva and Tom were great hosts. We stayed 6 days this September in the McCabe Suite. Very comfortable, clean and a great view of the water with the cruise ships and cargo ships going and coming into Halifax port. Breakfasts were delicious. Quiet area, about 25 minutes to downtown. What a wonderful place to stay! Everything was comfortable, welcoming, and enjoyable. Amazing views of both the ocean and the city (Halifax). We plan to come back to stay here in the future when we are back in the area!

We spent two nights here over the second week of July and it was hands down the best place we stayed at on our Maritimes road trip. The property is so unique, beautiful, and immaculate. Eva & Tom are amazing hosts, and we are still dreaming about those breakfasts! As avid travelers we have stayed many places, but this will always be one of our favorites of all times. Thanks for the memories!

Eva and Tom have a wonderful place that they've cared for and tend to and it shows. The atmosphere is wonderful, the rooms are beautiful, the location is wonderful, and the breakfasts are delicious.We had the pleasure of them hosting our wedding and it was an amazing experience that we will never forget.Thank you for everything, we hope to return again in the future
