Holiday Inn Express Edmonton Downtown, an IHG Hotel

Disgusting! Hire some reasonable cleaners.Rooms smell like cigarette smoke and look like they haven't been vacuumed in a few guests. Comfy beds but they are so high off the ground it makes it difficult to get in and out safely for shorter people or children.Dirty pool area, floors, washrooms, hot tub and no pool towels! Tried the courtesy phone in the pool and it didn't connect. Tried to call from my cell phone and kept getting looped around through their booking system but never to the front desk.The breakfast was fine but took a while to refill anything so we were only able to actually get a small portion of whatever was offered.The best part of the whole stay was the front desk hostess, Esther. She was friendly, kind, helpful and understanding. Honestly, if they had one more staff member to support her, to clean and maintain the property, it would have probably been a better experience.

So, drove in from Calgary arrived....walked down the hallway on the 3rd floor. Dirty right off the bat! then went into the room hair on the floor of the bathroom, shower walls, around the toilet, windows dirty. We were going to stay here for a concert in Nov but we booked another hotel. We will be telling our friends who are also staying for the concert.Oh get this....we were at breakfast and there was a homeless fella that just walked in to the free breakfast....loaded up and left. Yah they have to eat too....but does not inspire safety. When brought to their attention the staff replied....we cant be everywhere all the time.For its purpose we will stay here, but wont be back....

Great hotel in a great location based on the cost you pay. Hot breakfast and kindness of the staff were great.... It seems the hotel runs with the minimal staff though. It was clear to me that the staff are doing their best but it would not hurt if front desk and breakfast area have more staff employed and work there which helps guests in quicker responses.

I needed a room in a pinch. The “cheapest” they could offer me was $190/ night which does not line up with prices online.The concierge told me that if I needed a room the following day, it would be cheaper.It was not. The concierge told me I had the cheapest room.My room had pubic hairs on the bathroom floor and bathtub, Wall paper that was very much peeling off the walls, and the Room also had a very weird smell.Definitely wouldn’t come back again.
