Tokyo In April
Tokyo in April restaurant is quite spacious and has a nice ambiance that adds to the overall dining experience. We came here specifically for the omu rice, and it did not disappoint. It was flavorful and well-prepared, although it was only warm when it arrived at our table, which was a bit of a disappointment.Aside from the omu rice (limit 1 to a table only), we also enjoyed most of the other dishes we ordered. Unfortunately, the egg bombs were the only dish that didn't quite meet our expectations. Nevertheless, we would definitely come back to try some of the other items on the menu.Overall, a great dining experience, and the friendly staff and lovely ambiance make for an enjoyable evening.

This place is a hidden gem. For japanese food in Vancouver, this is a must visit. Their ingredients are fresh and they have a large selection of sushi and hot plates. The cups for hot tea are also adorable and are all different. The sweet corn tempura is my favourite thing on the menu, and it's great as an appetizer. The food is delicious and colourful, and all the servers are welcoming.

Food is great, friendly staffs, convenient location. Love the aburi and oshi sushi. Omu rice is just okay, not my style for curry. Avocado bomb is unique but also tastes good.

Affordable sushi in downtown Vancouver with a wide selection of rolls and bowls. a very casual setting, nothing fancy btw. would recommend the crazy mountain roll! the tofu roll was very soft tofu with not much flavour if you don’t have the sauce (which is suspected to have dairy - warning for those with dietary restrictions!). also the tempura batter may have dairy

Tokyo in April is really a hidden gem. I go to Chura in International Village to have haircut but don’t have a chance to try till today. Omelette rice is the best I have ever had in Vancouver. Tokyo Story Roll is a no rice sushi roll. It’s really tasty and refreshing. Avocado bomb is also very yummy. The restaurant opens at 12 and already filled up at 12:10. Will definitely go again.

Very nice Japanese restaurant. We went there for lunch and they had specific lunch specials for a very good price. We ordered two different bento boxes that came with miso soup and 4 different items. Everything tasted good and they were super filling. We couldn’t finish everything.Our server was nice and helpful. We enjoyed the experience and we’ll be back!

Went on a weekend afternoon for lunch and was seated right away. A majority of the tables were occupied with two or three available. Staff were prompt in providing tea and menus and were patient in letting us peruse the menu. We ordered a classic omurice and one unagi stone bowl.The stone bowl arrived first and the staff offer to mix it for you. The bowl is quite hot, which scorches the rice and creates a sticky and crunchy layer at the bottom if left to sit for too long. The staff also offer to cut open the omurice once it is served at your table. Both were delicious with excellent presentation. The sauce weird the omurice was particularly impressive.The price is not unusually high, considering the area and the type of food offered. The atmosphere of the place definitely plays into the dining experience. Would recommend for a nice meal with a small group, as it seems that most tables are suited for 2-4 people.There was also a lunch bento option that was not offered to us, but would be worth returning to check that out.

I've had a lot of sushi over the years and not once has a place impressed me until Tokyo in April. The quality of the food was completely incomparable to all the other resturants I've had over the years and will be in my memories for years to come. I will be coming back for the Omu Rice before I head back home as just seeing it at another table was enough to make my return. Top Notch and we'll worth a visit.

I can't stop thinking about the Salmon belly sashimi!! I highly recommend it as it was so flavourful and firm. They're well known for their omu-rice and it was delicious, super fluffy, very savoury, and filling. I also have to recommend their fried sweet corn tempura cause that was bomb.Cozy place with beautiful decor and good ambience. Service was friendly and attentive.
