Inn on the Intervale

This log Inn nestled in the woods beside the running brook made for a very tranquil and relaxing stay. The log building is stunning, cozy, and atmospheric. The screened-in back deck hosted bug-free warm summer evenings and sunsets. Fully furnished kitchen to use. Very clean and tidy. The owners are lovely people. Very friendly and personable. The food, oh, the food. Breakfast was served as soon as we entered the kitchen. Bacon, sausage, eggs, pancake casserole, home made hash browns, granola, etc. Tea, coffee, and excellent conversation. Very cozy space. Location is great. Close to Mabou. We will be back in the future! Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality. Everything exceeded our high hopes.

This place is rustic and cozy. It has lovely decorations that make you feel welcome and comfortable. Our room had 3 windows creating a lovely breeze. The bathroom was immaculately clean. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and plentiful with lots of options for vegetarians like me!

It was humbling to stay in such a beautiful country home on our travels.The landscape truly embodies the elements of nature and all the lovely flora and fauna around.We have Much gratitude for the service you hold in hosting travellers on their adventures through Cape Breton on your beautiful property.Also, Breakfast was perfect!Thanks again!Robyn and Frank

Wonderful hosts. The rooms very clean and the beds comfortable. If you are looking for a Rustic experience, this is the place to stay. We really enjoyed the breakfast each day.

Thoroughly enjoyed our brief but lovely stay. Room was very cozy and clean, the bed was very comfortable. The location was excellent with a nice stream running nearby and a path you could take down to it. The owners were very lovely people and made an excellent breakfast in the morning. This was our first, but is definitely not the last time we will stay at the inn. Would definitely recommend!!!Thank you Brian and Laura!

Delicious breakfasts. Solicitous hosts Brian and Laura. Great guidance of local eateries and entertainment. If I go back I will want room 5 again. It has a great bed and pristine bathroom plus views of the creek and woods. Lots of woods.

What a wonderful destination!! We booked the whole Inn and it didn’t disappoint. Multiple adults and kids, the space accommodated us very well. The rooms were bigger than the pictures are able to depict, great cross breeze from the bedroom windows and it was nice to hear the river at night from the back bedrooms. The kids had a space upstairs to hang out but they also took advantage of the green space outside. The adults enjoyed the screened in deck and dining space for cards.Thanks to Brian and Laura we felt like we had a home away from home!!Leanne

This place is a hidden gem.You have that feel right at home as you park your car. I felt welcomed even before putting a step inside the inn.The most important thing in this inn are the beds. I had one of the best night sleep I had in months. It was soooo comfy.After their amazing breakfast in the morning, I went and drove the cabot trail not knowing myself that i wanted to come back just for the bed. For a second night I slept again like a baby. Both days I made a fire in their fire pit. All the people staying at the inn was around the fire pit chatting away having a good time both days. It is a very quiet place also. You hear no traffic. This place has a feel good vibe that others can't just compete with.I am back home and I am still thinking of that bed.

If I could’ve stayed here everyday during my trip I would’ve! This place and the hosts were so welcoming treating you like family!I had booked an Airbnb initially and due to the lack of power in some areas I had booked this place instead. The rooms and accommodations were lovely. Breakfast were such thoughtful baked quiches and hash browns. Hosts were lovely and can’t recommend this place enough!

10/10 this place is a hidden gem! It was our last stop on our Cape Breton adventure and we are leaving the Island on the most positive note. We were able to cook our dinners in a fully equipped kitchen, they had everything we could have needed and more! The Inn is fully stocked with board games & books. There was plenty to look at on the walls and book shelves. After a goodnights rest in the comfortable beds you are greated on the main floor to a delicious homecooked breakfast. Laura & Brian even went out of their way to accommodate our dietary restrictions. The Inn has an awesome backstory, be sure to ask about it :) Laura & Brian are excellent hosts and we plan on coming back!Thanks again for having us,Mallory & Brandon
