I played nine holes at Sawmill Creek today. I was shocked with the condition of this golf course. Over the last two decades, I have played golf here many times! The golf course WAS a wonderful experience.Today, I played a broken down, pasture!! The fairways were not cut, the greens were furry, and all of the sand bunkers were waste, grass holes.I will never play golf here again!I hope, for the sake of the people who live in the adjacent community, the new owners decide to move in the right direction! Wow!!

Speaking strictly about the golf course, conditions and staff. Now before I say anything, the round was cheap and I had no expectations due to the price of the round, that being said, I’ve paid similar rates elsewhere and had never seen anything like this. No water, no food, no drinks, nothing in the pro shop besides what looked like some dated equipment. Not that the pro shop attendant was not nice to me, but I had to point out where I was in the books and mention that I’d already paid online. No carts…every time I asked if there was something available I was told no. Ballwashers are completely destroyed and not functional. T decks beaten to all hell, fairways so long it was difficult to see your ball. Dead grass everywhere. I cannot even begin to explain how terrible the conditions are. I’ve played $20 rounds with nicer rough than the greens were here. It seems that the course is receiving little to no attention at all. The bunkers are rock solid mud filled with weeds and are impossible and more so unfair to play out of. The cart paths are so torn up that it’s hard to walk on them in normal running shoes. This property has a lot of potential but the staff and maintenance team clearly just don’t care.. on my way out I thanked the pro shop attendant for everything and he wished me a good day. Even for the price I paid, I cannot golf here again. Please put some love into your course, it’s begging you.

I hadn't been here in a couple of years but it has gone downhill a lot. I won't even comment on the golf as many already have so let me comment on a few other things. Pulled up on a 20degC Sunday afternoon and 5 cars in the entire parking lot which should have been my first clue. Driving range closed and netting on the back end of it looks awful. As you walk towards the proshop there are derelict areas, overgrown weeds, and just poor state of most areas. Practice green looks like something I'd put together in my backyard.Hopefully it gets better soon.....

Oct.3rd 22..........rains last week definitel greened up the whole course. Most certainly very playable and enjoyable.....,there is something to be said about having your own private club.........do not understand why it is so quiet..Had to return and play this course again. The weather was just too grand to miss chasing the white ball. (Date was Sept 15th)Again, I have to say how delightfully surprised I was, by how much this course has improved over the summer. There is still plenty of room for more refinement but the owner and grounds keeper are on the correct path. Bunkers remain unplayable and approaches could be upgraded but greens are certainly playable and the improvement is very encouraging. The most exciting new feature for Sawmill was the sale of seasons passes for the next (2023) season..... Buy your pass now and you get to play for free the rest of this season! Farmers almanac is calling for warmer than normal September, October and November so there is plenty of golf yet to be enjoyed.I don't think you could find a better deal if the care and upgrading continues. Only one hundred memberships are available so don't miss out on this great bargain.Played my 2nd round of the year on this track. Pleasantly surprised by the huge improvement. In the fashion of a true links golf course the fairways are cut and very hard. Greens were where the most noticeable improvement was seen. They were very playable. This is one of the areas best laidout courses and should be appreciated for the potential. Continue to return it to it's former glory.New chef and the chicken wrap was world class.

Absolutely the worse place I’ve ever golfed. Which is such a shame because it use to be prestigious to golf there. Also way overpriced and rates were going up on July 1. I will never return there. Not one hole was properly taken care of, sand traps had weeds in them and grass was brown. Putting greens were horrible.

The layout of the course is nice and I imagine when it first opened it was a fantastic course. The 2 stars are for the potential it is has, the place needs a lot TLC. Hopefully they can turn it around and get it fixed up. The greens need work and the bunkers need sand.

This course would be a great place if it was maintained , as it is it is terrible. Greens had dandy lions growing on them, there is absolutely no sand in the bunkers fairways you had to look for grass to hit from . For beginner golfers would be great as there are very few people on the course, but the cost is way to high even for beginners.

Course weeds are well-dying since a couple weeks. Greens are slow to come back. Need rain. The track is target golf everywhere; a gorgeous pro layout and shorter than Forest City Natnl. For $20 walking. and shape is secondary, this is a Scotsmans dream !

When we arrived at the course we were unsure if it was still a functioning golf course with a building that starting to look pretty decrepit. They made us pay for double for the cart rentals due to “we got too good of a deal on the round and that we had to pay the difference to make up for it”.The course was in absolutely terrible condition. The worst course I have ever seen by far! The tee blocks were completely uncut or maintained in anyway, the greens were half dead and full of long weeds and grass uncut, leaving them virtually unplayable, the bunkers were so over grown the weeds we’re between 4-6 feet tall. This course had zero maintenance and was the worst experience I’ve ever had golfing. Terrible experience and would recommend that no one ever “bites the bullet” and settles for this place! The photos attached were the best 2 bunkers. This place looks like it could have potential but in its current condition it’s not worth wasting your time or any money on
