Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre

Visited here recently and the location of the workout rooms was sort of strange...For the main room, you have to walk through the actual pool area to get to it.The gym itself(fitness room 1 of 3 apparently) was pretty rough. There were large squares of the ceiling missing and water was dripping into buckets on the ground. Also, a random maintenance ladder was propped up by one of the machines. Very strange vibe.The sauna on the other hand, was unreal! First dual-heater setup I've ever seen. The room was massive and got plenty hot.The door was kind of finicky and required reefing on it to properly close, but overall a really great experience.This place isn't the prettiest, but it's a great place to come for a sweat. I'll be back for sure.

Great facility, extremely poor management. Swimming pool is always a packed nightmare. Lane swim is full of slow folks in the fast lane and blocking traffic, lifeguards don't care. It's around 6 people in a lane and half are fast half are slow. Huge overcrowding issue. Don't even try go on toonie Tuesday, you'll be lucky if you even get to fit in the pool with all the people there.

Great gym and great monthly prices. We came here on a holiday and wanted to join a gym as we are staying for two months, highly recommend this community centre for their recreation as there are 6 different locations you can visit and reasonable price. Would recommend

This Community Centre is the heart of the neighborhood. It has all the things that you need in a community centre: an ice rink + viewing capacity(used for Lacrosse, Ice Hockey, Ringette, and other ice sports), a 25M swimming pool/hottub and sauna, community services/activities for seniors and families, and the large Memorial gym complex for youth and other young people activities. Flicka has a large portion used for their Gymnastic program and there is even a nice little coffee shop in the main facility that provides opportunities for the staff that work there as well as providing a community air for those who frequent the centre. The staff are amazing and part of the fabric for HJCC.Update Dec 2021. The city has shifted its policy and will not be closing it down!!!! YAY. WE HAVE A COMMUNITY CENTRE still in place for the community.----The facility is aged for certain and is targeted for replacement however.... since the 2019 council decided to shut this centre down WELL before the new one is completed across the street at the end of 2025 (best case) there is going to be a Significant hole and likely a change to the dynamic of the neighborhood due to the significant increase in density with new market and affordable housing, of which will NOT have any services locally available and will have to go to places in the North Van District like Delbrook, Karen Magnusson and way down the hill to F Braithwaite, or if they want a pool, to Ron Andrews or even West Van Community Centre. This is going to be disastrous for the neighbourhood and the north shore and a Legacy from the NV City Council and everyone that supports this current leadership group.

Excellwnt place for sport activities for entire family

One of the older rec centers in North Vancouver. Slated for demolition in the future as the new rec center will be opening sometime in 2025. Has a nice pool and ice rink and a smallish gym.just a basic no frills rec center that has served the community for 56 years.

I just wanted to say it’s an awesome pool, not crowded, with really helpful lifeguards. It’s a comfy and friendly environment. :))The pool might not be too fancy but it still provides an awesome experience for their visitors.

Older facility but it’s a staple in the community. I’d rate the showers 10/10 for temperature and flow. Really sad to see it will be torn down long before the replacement is built. The pool has good hours and is more than adequate for lane swimming, with a good large sauna and a good hot tub.

pretty confused were there are four weight rooms. But coming here to swim, a hot tub and sauna is a pretty good way to relax after your workout. But also excited for the new re centre
