My experience with this company started out good, but turned into an overall very negative experience due to a combination of rudeness, billed time spent on what seemed like personal phone calls, and high pressure sales tactics. I think the technician I dealt with is sufficiently knowledgeable to do the technical work, but arrogant and overconfident in his knowledge beyond the technical details (perhaps this was a sales tactic?).The staff answering the phone were polite and were able to set me up with a same day appointment.The gentlemen who came to service my broken A/C was essentially downright rude. Initially I chalked it up to him wanting to do his work efficiently, but over the course of the visit, he talked down to me (I got the impression it was because I was a woman, but I could be wrong), tried to convince me that running a temperature schedule was not economical (I've since read several studies proving it is economic), and guilted me for not having a regular maintenance schedule for the A/C (most people I know in the industry have told me this is not necessary). He then went to do some work outside... from inside I could hear he was on the phone having what seemed like a very casual conversation. After 5 minutes I went out to do some yard work, and it was apparent that he was not doing work and was billing me for time spent on what seemed to be a personal conversation. It took me heading in and out a few times before he hung up and continued working. I think he ended up replacing a contactor, which at least got my A/C Unit running. He then showed me how it wasn't cooling and and told me he suspected a leak. Do to the age of my A/C and type of coolant, I would need a new one. I believe all this was true, and he arrived at this conclusion quickly which is why I say he was technically competent. However, he followed this up with some scummy sales tactics.The price he offered me for a new Unit was $4k for a 1.5btu. Having looked up prices before he arrived, I knew this was quite high - he tried to convince me that the difference was 10 years of free maintenance and that the cost of A/Cs had entirely to do with maintenance... I explained to him that the Unit had run for about 10 years without any maintenance and that other quotations I had were about $2k less. To ensure fair comparison, I asked if I could call another company for a second quotation. He told me that he was going to bill me fully for the current visit if I picked up the phone, whereas if I just accepted his price then the visit might be covered. Keep in mind, that at this point I had slept only 3 hours following a night shift, and it was about 35 degC outside and I had no A/C - he knew all this. I asked him what the bill for the his visit was - it was only at $200 so I called his bluff. Sure enough, first quote I got was $2.2k-$2.4k for a 2 btu unit with 2 years of maintenance included, or I could pay $160/yr for maintenance for as long as I wanted (would take more than 10 years to make up the difference in price).At the end of the day I bought a new A/C from a different company whose technician treated me with respect and dignity, and whose prices were aligned with other companies, and who provided reasonably quick service without sales tactics.

I think it was Frank who came out to assess our need. He put us at ease immediately by treating us like we were old customers. Very thorough, thoughtful and encouraging. The team of technicians who came out were thorough, efficient, friendly and accommodating. No fear, no fuss, no loose ends... everything worked fine the first time. Wow, that there are still skilled sensible reasonable and honest guys is so encouraging!

Amazing family owned business. Great office manager, techs and owners who treat all of their customers with genuine care and professionalism. This time, we had our hot water tank replaced in just a few hours and I don’t remember our water ever heating up so quickly as it does now. We have also had central air and furnace repaired and replaced by this team. They save you money whenever possible, too. Thanks again for helping us. You guys are the best!

We are thrilled with the service we received from Cullen Heating. We had been waiting for another contractor to find a part for our gas fireplace for over 9 months with no luck. I called Cullen Heating and within a few weeks they were able to find the part, receive it and install it the very next morning. I know that it took a great deal of time and effort to find this part that apparently did not exist . Maureen did a great job and was so helpful and encouraging. John not only installed the part but took the time to go over everything and to troubleshoot, and cleaned everything so that it looks brand new. Thanks so much!

Cullen Heating and Air is my go to Heating and air company. I have used them multiple times and I have been satisfied every time. The owner is active on Facebook and easy to communicate with to set up an appointment. I messaged him on Facebook at 9 pm with an issue and he responded within 15 minutes and I had an appointment the next morning. I would highly recommend Cullen Heating and Air for all your heating and cooling need.
