Held my deposit hostage for 48hours Even though I communicated I wanted to get it back quickly after reading that it was illegal in Quebec to take a deposit for rentals. Steer clear, had to even provide proof of a payment because they claimed they couldn’t even find it, very sketchy.

The agent who showed up to show me around the apartment I scheduled to see had forgotten the key and instead showed me around another vacant property he had. Should've been a red flag, but I ended up liking the other property enough to apply for a lease application, which I quickly got approved for. However, when I asked to see the apartment again the next day I was informed that it was going to be renovated rather than rented and my $100 was sent back to me. The agent seemed apologetic and said an identical apartment was still available if I wanted to see it and sign the lease if I liked it. I applied again for that identical apartment, again it should've been a red flag that they only told me about the renovation and sent back the money after I had 1. been approved and 2. messaged them first. However, I really liked the apartment and applied formally for the identical one and, again, quickly got approved. I once again asked to visit the apartment and to move forward with the lease. However, the same exact thing happened, except this time they said that it had been rented out to someone else. Once again, I was only informed about this and refunded when I initiated contact first. Anyway, it was an overall bad experience, but this company seems to have control over a lot of buildings near my uni... so for any university students out looking to work with them, good luck. I was tricked by the 5 star reviews... the discrepancy of only having 1 and 5 star reviews should have also been a red flag.

I don't know how these people did it, I bought a building filled with tenants who refused to leave and was paying very low rent. Arithra and his team managed to evict them all within a year and I was able to finish my renovation work. They were then able to find me tenants paying at-least twice more with a a matter of weeks after the completion of my renovation work.

Terribly managed apartment by Arithra. He had people go into my apartment without permission and he was a nightmare to deal with. Each time I needed something it was responded by a, WE ARE NOT A HOTEL"."

Tourbee is a great company! Their staff is very friendly and easy to communicate with. All issues were dealt with in a timely manner. Overall a very professional company. Would definitely recommend them for managing services and/or as a landlord

I had an extremely unpleasant experience with tourbee. Many of our belongings were thrown out and left on the street, even ones we had on the furniture inventory list. The head of the organization Arithra Debnath was extremely rude and condescending on phone and over messages. We also never received compensation for the items that were thrown out. I would not recommend using them to rent out your apartment no matter what. The rest of the staff was pleasant, but the head of the organization was not.

I subletted my apartment using Tourbee's sublet rental program. The process could not be any smoother. I filled out the online application, then a questionnaire to determine how much I will be getting back as my rent. I scored 95%, meaning I will get back 95% of my rent. The process was entirely online. I was also delivered a few boxes to store my personal belongings in while I was away. Money was direct deposited to my bank account on a timely fashion and when I came back to my apartment I found my couch was replaced by a brand new one. Tourbee claimed it got scratched and it was covered by their insurance so I got a brand new couch without even asking for it. I could not be any happier.

HORRIBLE. First apartment my girlfriend and I visited with them, we waited for 20 min in front of the address for the agent to arrive late. When he did, and literally as he was opening the door, a car stops behind us in the middle of the street and tells him from the window that the apartment had already been rented. So that was that. The second apartment we found seemed super charming at first from the photos, but then when we visited it turned out to have A LOT of issues (not least the fact that there is no key, only a code on the door which opens directly on the street, and a collapsed bathroom roof). We paid a deposit for it, twice the amount required because it was the only way for both my girlfriend and I to have our names on the lease. I spent the next 3 days exchanging emails with the agent to clarify the many issues in the apartment before signing. On the third day, we get an automated email that the pending lease had been cancelled and that the apartment had been rented to someone else, no heads up, no nothing (keep in mind that I was actively communicating with the agent by mail at that point. That agent actually turned out to be the company owner). When I told him to at least refund us our DOUBLE deposit, he refused.Unprofessional, unethical, and barely legal (just enough to scam people out of deposits). If you are a landlord or a tenant, and were planning to work with them, run while you have the chance.

My little brother is more professional than this place and he throws chairs at people. Honestly its tragic that they own so many places near campus, so from the bottom of my blood pumping organ (which is freezing rn btw bc ive been waiting for a lil bit now for my agent to show up), please go to a different cold place to screw people over

IT'S A SCAMThey will ask for a deposit before you get a lease, then say the apartment is taken and not refund you. It is a business run by scummy people who feel no shame for screwing over students who are inexperienced with housing.In response to the response from owner:The first situation you described is what occurred. There were multiple attempts to contact the company and resolve the issue but there was no response until I left this review. Maybe I will take it down once refunded.
