The Lighting Guy Ontario

Did not make any effort or seem interested in our project. We know it was an inexpensive lamp, and we wanted different shades for it. He said quickly he would get someone else do it and he was the only place in southern Ontario who would do lamp shades. The prices were very expensive. Not worth our time to book the appointment and drive there . Extremely disappointing.

Trust me, you don't want to deal with the terrible customer service at The Lightning Guy. Save yourself the hassle and steer clear of this place. And if you don't believe me, just wait for the snarky response the owner is bound to give to this review.Edit: In response to the owner's comment, I would like to provide additional context:Under the Aladdin section on the website, there is a banner stating, HOW TO ORDER / PAY / SHIP / MINIMUM ORDER REQUIREMENTS." I found an unusual brass lamp which I managed to break at the lower pivot point. I had a difficult time finding anyone to fix it. The fix ended up being a replacement pivot, which nobody previous to this had suggested. Dave treated the new brass to match the patina, well done! The lamp had to be rewired too. All is well!

I had been searching for months to find a new shade for my banker lamp and had tried multiple stores and online but couldn’t locate the right size and colour. Then I got referred to tlg and met with David he had exactly what I needed and was even able to install it why I waited which was great as I am from out of town. Thank you David

I rate my experience with the Lighting Guy Ontario as excellent. He repaired 4 wall light fixtures for me quickly and recommended bulbs that will save energy. Will definitely visit again!

I had an antique crystal table lamp which fell down and 2 of the arms broke. I searched online and from the website I thought I'm going to a professional guy to fix it. We drove 1 hour to Cambridge and trusted this guy to fix our lamp.After picking up the lamp he gave us a totally different shape arm. Even the size doesn't match and instead of telling us he couldn't fix and find the arm he put whatever he found and replaced it with the broken ones, even the sleeves that he gave us won't fit the armst. We also noticed some other part of the lamp is broken too which was not when we gave him the lamp. He has put 2 crystal arms that even the sleeves that he gave us won't fit.I have tried to contact him several times but he won't reply and ignores all of my emails.

Showed up at my scheduled time and was warmly welcomed. David was really great - provided some suggestions and ideas surrounding a lamp we want retro fitted with a milk glass shade. Also bought a lamp shade for some funky lamp we haven’t used.Headed back to collect retro fitted lamp when it is completed.I’ll update if anything happens that isn’t superb - very impressed so far :)

Whether French antique chandeliers, Asian lamps or unique lamp shades, the lighting guy has been my go to.He has always done a fabulous job.I highly recommend him for all your lighting needs.

I've been there twice nowQuirky, fun little store.Love it!Bought a floor lamp and, also, he converted an old lantern lamp to electrical - brings back fond memories when I was camping with my parents years ago.

It was a relief to hear from TLG that he could revive an old lamp we thought was headed for the landfill. David was able to not just replace key components and McGiver other broken bits with spares he had on hand, he did it while we waited.Loved the online booking feature, the shop atmosphere, and expert service. What a local treasure.
