Chemainus Public Market
The reason we stopped by is we needed a restroom. But this is an interesting place to enter. They have cool booths with different things like arts, clothing, hair salon. There's also a cafe and bakery spot.

Ate land lovers food at the fish and chip restaurant. Excellent food, the fries were some of the best I've had. We even had red rose tea :)

There are only few shops. But all of them rather unique. I like the coffee shop. 50's dinner vibe. Comfy seats.

If you want a coffee between 4 and 5pm, this is pretty much the only place in town to go. That said, there are lots of little shops in here including a small arcade, pet treat store, antiques, etc. it's worth a visit.

I stopped in after driving by numerous times and I have to tell you I was totally shocked at what I saw. There were so many neat stores (individual booths) inside as well as restaurants and a coffee shop that I couldn’t believe it. They had a Lego store, an arcade, a pet store, various gift shops and even a hair salon. You must, must, must, stop in sometime and walk through to check it out. The washrooms are at the back of the store and there’s tons of great items inside.

The whole market was cool but Captain Andy's Fish and Chips was phenomenal. Myself, wife and 2 kids ordered different things. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The fried food was perfect and the oil was super clean. Can't wait to be back.

We stopped by for a quick look on our drive up to Nanaimo. They have a lot of small shops for browsing and is worth quick stop. They also have some restaurants and bakeries you can stop for a meal. We didn't try any so cant comment on it. They also have lots of murals on their walls and I read it was done to help boost their economy. Overall, it was an ok stop if you have time to spare.

Beautiful little town with a lot of history. The walls in the Chemainus public market are painted with people who made some mark. That's the town's speciality to see beautifully painted walls. It's great to make a quick stopover on the way to Nanaimo and/or Pacific Rim National Park. It's worth a visit.

Love most of the vendors here. They are so friendly. One of them gave my daughter some seashells that he couldn't sell, I thought that was so incredibly kind and they are her favorite right now.Thank you for being so generous and making her day ☺️
