Whata great experience. Got an appointment in one week. Went there with ALL the documents they required. I also took1-2 extra documents to make it even more authentic.8 days later my passport was ready for pick up.I applied for 5 days and they gave me 3 weeks lol.Give them everything they require and you should be good to go!

Always loved Netherland and looking forward to visiting it. But I didn't have a good experience with the visa process with VFS. I sincerely hope the consulate could consider alternative partners with this process. After all, the visa process can be the country's first impression for many people.

Unfortunately, I regretted applying for Schengen Visa through this location in 2019. Two weeks before going to Germany in December 2019 for my sister's emergency labour, I applied for Schengen Visa. I decided to visit my other twin sister and attend my nephew's birthday after 5 years in Netherlands. I had already paid for the airline ticket, travel document, NOC from my university, also NOC from work, and Schengen Visa application form. I was supposed to be on the board to Germany on Sunday. However, after calling and sending several emails, on Friday at 4 pm , when the Consulate is not open, I received an email that my application for Schengen Visa had been approved! I missed my flight, my sister's labour and my nephew's birthday. The airline did not refund my money as it was nonrefundable. And I am a third-year university student with a part time job. If I had my travel document, at least I would able to flight to Germany. Then the pandemic began and my Canadian citizenship process delayed. I lost my friends in the Ukraine Airlines Flight 752 on Jan 08, 2020 and I literally needed to be with my sisters and mother in Europe. I really appreciate the staff of this General Consulate in particular those who treated me with dignity and respect. However, I'm not sure if I'll be able to forget it.

Friendly staff. But made me travel two times to collect passports. We first received an email to pickup Passport. I went there and found out only my wife's passport is ready. We both submitted one application. The email didn't mention any applicant name or passport number or any other indication. I received another email the very next day to pick up passport!

Worst experience possible, the system they use to book an appointment never works, you call them and never pick up and when they do, they are no help and they redirect you to the booking system. How am I supposed to apply for the Visa if nothing works??

Service was spontaneous. Legalization of few papers took only few minutes

There is no possible way to make an appointment for Toronto. I called them, I just get an excuse that it is due to corona, while this problem has been existing since 5 months now. Also, he stated I could try Ottowa. But this office doesn’t even show up in the appointment system. I am now not able to visit my family for Christmas with my husband.

Great service-started right in time as scheduled, served very professionally and politely, sent me all necessary reminders. I had a special request to keep my passport after application for another travel - consulate officer was very supportive on this so I just dropped in my passport after finishing the travel.I wish all Consulates were like this one.

disheartening experience at the Toronto consulate. having held Schengen visas for a decade, most recently visited Italy last year & NL in 2007, I was left speechless by the treatment at this office. I admitted that it was my fault I didn't have my documents in order, partly because it was a last minute appointment & a honest misunderstanding regarding the forms. no where on the form does it say 'tourism' and 'visiting friends/family' are two different categories. but when I asked what my options were, i was served a moral lecture and accused of 'coming unprepared', 'trying to save hotel money' and subtly implied visa fraud. It wasn't the rejection that was upsetting but the manner in which i was spoken to, almost being treated like a criminal trying to scam my way thru a visa. Nonetheless since i was looking forward to this trip, as suggested by the official, I wrote a polite email for a new appointment few days later (you can only take one appointment online, you have to email 2nd time onwards). The response i get was a one-liner 'which nationality' with zero pleasantries or courtesies as expected of a government organisation. after a couple more emails, I was told to come the following day knowing well its too short a day to get the new documents in order. So as of now have cancelled my trip and will rework my itinerary. my first rejection ever despite being a canada PR, holding a US visa, visited UK and many other European cities. disappointing. hope the rest of you have a better experience than I did. Good luck.

The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. They are also very responsive to phone calls and emails and provide proper suggestions for any questions. Booking an appointment here might be the only challenge as summers are usually very busy. I would definitely recommend this consulate over VFS.
