Hamilton Bike Share

Been having problems with this system lately. Every time I lock a bike at a nearby sobi hub, I didn't get charged. But lately it's been charging me despite locking it at a sobi hub. Until they decide to fix this system, I won't be changing my review anytime soon.

The service is amazing but my only problem is unlocking a bike can be a huge hassle because of the bikes not unlocking with the new QR code system.

I used Sobi bikes for the first time a month ago when I was back in Ontario and didn't have a car. It was so handy and easy to get a bike and ride to Dundas even! The bikes were in good working order and I really enjoyed just leaving it at the nearest Sobi rack near my destination.

my son and his friend both used sobi bikes to go from emerson street bike hub to hutchs on the beach hub. when my son tried to take a bike back from hutchs, no bike would work. all lights red. his friend attempted to contact customer support (all this at 820pm) but no live person was available. unfortunately my son had to walk 3 hours home from the beach in the dark as he had no money or alternate transporation available to him. i wont recommend this service to people. my son will contact the team with more details about his experience.

When it works it works great. When it doesn't there is no one to call and no feedback on the screen saying the system is offline. Also bike availability is hit and miss. I've called in prior, no one contacted me. Stuck again with system down. Metrolinx money well spent.

Best damn bike sharing system I've ever used in North America. When I was a student at McMaster, I drove a bike to and from campus every day, as well as to visit friends and go out to bars. Beats walking and taking the HSR anytime. Station density and mostly safe cycling routes in the City of Hamilton were key factors in my decision to buy a one year membership.

Definitely a hit or miss kind of situation. Pre-booking is the way to go because then you dont have to toil over pressing the very hard buttons so much. All you do is put in your password and you're ready to go. Some bikes ride better than others. Hopefully they will make it so all bikes run smoothly. Cycling sure is fun. Thanks for providing the service.

I have not got one reply out of the there times I have complained so this customer service is terrible. The buttons on the bike are usually sooo hard to push or you have to push it 4 times for it to register, the screens are all blacked out and scratchy so it’s hard to read sometimes. Some bikes are in perfect shape but majority need repair. They have charged my credit cards times it shouldn’t haveand they will not answer to try and fix it or even explain more as to why it was. It’s unfortunate because I love when I’m riding it, it can be convent but the stress of these charges is making me scared to use the bikes.

A member since Day 1. A bike share like SOBI is vital to the health of our city. I use it all around. Thanks for providing this awesome public service.
