Revera Birkdale Place

I was a resident for a month of respite following a complete hip replacement. This was the ideal place to recover. Great meals, beautiful room and wonderful people. This allowed me the space to sleep and eat well and be cared for while I got better. Highly recommend!

I have worked at Birkdale Place for a year and a half now and I am so proud to be a part of the Birkdale Team. The enviroment of Birkdale is so positive and amazing, from our wonderful residents and team members of Birkdale. I truly enjoy going to work at Birkdale Place.

To be honest there is constant turnover of staff at Birkdale. Leadership pertaining to the ED is poor and she has a very poor attitude towards people calling in to inquire about rooms for family members. Just answer the questions and stop being so pushy sales wise.Relax the building needs to sell itself. Create a better staff culture nobody respects the ED.Be more creative with your events look at the history of the town of Milton and how you can incorporate that into events.Guest speakers should be local and knowledgeable about the history of Milton and why it is an amazing place to live.I honestly don’t bring referrals into your building because of the poor attitude of the ED and I have seen and spoken to staff first hand who have no respect for the ED.Trust me with out the staffs respect you will not get the residents respect or referrals.You should not have to offer 1K to have people referred to Birkdale as an incentive, this is old school. Growing up in this town all my life I can tell you the direction this building is going is south. You should be at 100% occupancy with a waiting list! You really only have a few competitors.You can research and buy buildings , but if you don’t research the staff or have a good recruiting team things can go downhill fast like it has.Hire all local who define the staff and can discuss the history of Milton and why it’s such a great place to live.Good luck.Scott

My brother and I recently moved our mother into Birkdale. The whole experience, from the initial tour, selecting a unit, preparing for her arrival, to her move in day has been wonderful. Her unit is spacious and cozy and already feels like home and she is loving the delicious meals. Every staff member we have met has been friendly, welcoming, attentive and eager to help. It brings peace of mind knowing my mother is in a place that cares for its residents with kindness and respect. I look forward to many happy years visiting my mother at Birkdale.

My grandmother has been at Birkdale Place for almost 2 years and she has always been treated with kindness. The staff is magnificent! She is a huge fan of the recreation program and all of the events and activities that are available to her.We are especially grateful for Birkdale Place during COVID19, as they have done a phenomenal job keeping everyone safe and happy!

I wrote this letter to the Greg Chow and the Birkdale team after my mother left for a long term care facility. Her needs unfortunately exceeded the independent care provided at Birkdale Place.I would like to take this opportunity to commend you and the entire Birkdale staff with how they handled the Covid situation I am so pleased that my mother came out of that entire year and a half without catching it.  I tip my hat to you and your staff.  Your on line zoom town meetings we’re invaluable by letting us know exactly what was transpiring at Birkdale. All in all that was a lot of hard work and you guys were very diligent and well organized. To Aziza and her staff thank you for the outstanding care you provided to my mother. Also, many thanks to Alyssa that took the time each week to make sure that mom was active and provided communication support so I could speak with mom while we were out west in Victoria BC for the winter.I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I felt my mom was always safe there at Birkdale and anyone who asks I will most definitely let them know the terrific experience that I and my mother have had during her stay at Birkdale Place. I wish you the staff and residents at Birkdale all the best in the year ahead.  I will miss coming to Birkdale.Thank you so much Rob D

Great retirement home. A family member retired here and loves it. Assisted living, lots of friends, great amenities, privacy, shuttle rides.

I have had the up most respect for this retirement home. The staff have been extremely helpful and very respectful to not just me but to the other family residing in the building. I would still recommend this residence for other folks who need a good home for their aging family members who need the care.

My mother has been living at Birkdale since October, 2021 and we have nothing but good things to say about her transition. The staff are wonderful - so patient, kind and supportive to her needs. They offer a variety of activities and outings for residents and she is happy living there!

Clean and beautiful space, very open lots of natural light and love that music is playing all the time. The staff is wonderful often going above and beyond expectations. The quality of care and overall dedication of each staff member is evident in the happiness and comfort of the residents. The residents are treated like family and Birkdale has made this very difficult and challenging transition for our loved one such a positive experience.
