My friend is Filipino, and she decided to choose a Filipino restaurant to eat at for dinner. Our server was very nice, but she was often unavailable as she had many other tables to take care of. Yes, it was fairly busy but there were a few times where our water was empty and the cups were fairly small. Not to mention, the water was warm and didn’t come with ice. The lumpia was not the best, and so was the fish fried rice. The grilled pork belly was good. No one in my family was impressed with the food, it was not authentic whatsoever.

My first time trying Philippine Food, so I guess I'll start with the good parts first. The service was excellent. Our server was very friendly, very happy and always smiling. That's not always the case at restaurants. All the food we ordered tasted great, lots of flavor, and everything arrive quite fast. We also got a couple of Buko Pandan for free since our order was over $50.Now the bad, our chicken was so overcooked that even the leg and thigh was dry. The breast was so dry that we were dipping in the Kare-Kare in order to eat it. For a restaurant that is suppose to specialize in fried chicken, it was disappointing. The ox tail in the Kare Kare was very tough. Ox tail needs to be stewed a long time and these weren't cooked long enough.Mandatory tips at a restaurant has always been a red flag for me. I should have the option to tip more if the service is good and tip less if the service is poor. I usually don't return to restaurants which has this policy in place.

This is my fourth time dining in at this restaurant and I do have to say that their filipino food is delicious, well-prepared, and reminds me of home. But every visit my family and I are disappointed of how slow the service is even during off-peak hours.Another thing is the mandatory tipping, (they do have a sign at the entrance letting you know about this so you do have a choice to dine in or not) but with this I personally expect to receive consistent exceptional customer service.

1. The interior is bright and clean, with a large menu selection2. Portions are big but overall flavor is mediocreWhat we ordered:-Garlic rice is delicious and the portions are really big (we ordered the large)-Soup: the meat is extremely tender but both the meat and the broth are too salty. It's salty but not filled with enough flavor to balance it out-diced pork is flavorful but a bit too dry- fried chicken is incredibly dry, and no flavor(pricing is around $17/19/23 per dish)

It was a great experience dining here at Max's Vancouver, it feels like dining back home. The food and service are great! Really enjoyed the sizzling tofu, chicken and palabok. Sooooo yummy. Kudos to Robert for the great service.

Came for Dineout, highly recommend. Delicious food + exceptionally friendly and professional service! I especially enjoyed the chicken wings (so addictive) and pork skewers. Only thing that could be improved is we had to wait in the front for a bit despite having reservations, and there seemed to be lots of empty tables. Will definitely be back!

One of the best Filipino restaurants in Vancouver. The food is delicious. The staff does a good job everytime. Try the crispy pata or sinigang. The halo-halo (dessert) is highly recommended.

It’s been awhile since we were back since this whole Covid thing. Our server Riri was very pleasant dealing with and so polite, no joke. Having to try there version of pork sisig was a new addition to their menu, well done. And having made fresh dishes served to us was a great touch not like other places that have food that was already cooked awhile ago is good to know that the food was made fresh. We will be back!!!

I had a lovely lunch with my family. Our server was Terence, and he was phenomenal; we had a very pleasant dining experience. Terence was very warm and friendly and he took care of us while we were there. The food was fresh, delicious and well portioned. Great food and service, well done Max's!
