Oasis Beads

My girlfriend, her mom & sister went in store today, not to long after I make this review.. looking for a gifts for a few of her family members. An older short white women AN EMPLOYEE was being prejudiced & racist to my girlfriend thinking she was plotting to steal from the store when yet WE WERE LOYAL CUSTOMERS that have shopped there before countless times , she clearly could have paid for it. soo this lady took her bag away, then watched her, followed her in the store until she created some fake conversation about oh “look at this, look at that” etc etc to cover up her subjective/oppressive type of actions.. but yet minutes later my girlfriend’s sister comes into the store & carrying a bag from the exact same store but instead just left her alone thinking they weren’t together or family based off of skin tones, RACIST! ..

There's a large selection of merchandise which is a plus if you need a few things. Generally stores only carry a few different varieties of stones. Which is why I've given it two stars.What I don't like is going in there and hearing employees (including the owner) talking down about people. I've also been in there on another occasion listening to her trying to ask another employee what they did with a certain product over the phone and saying, [employee name] you're acting like I don't know what I'm doing."I try to ask questions and the owner usually gives an answer like I don't know and says most people just google it.What did we do before google? I guess people knew what they sold and what they were dealing with when they opened a business. Perhaps the owners suggesttion to the employee over the phone was one of real feeling. People often project their own insecurities. Especially working around crystals that do happen to amplify what one may be feeling (positive or negative).I find the customer service here to be incredibly false."

What a charming store! Friendly staff and a truly massive collection of beads and semi precious stones. The colours, textures, sizes and varieties are tremendous. A much larger space in Elgin Mall than the old downtown shop.

The best customized service ever. Made me feel right at home. Everything I was looking for. It's an hour away, but worth the trip for sure. Left with 125.00 of merch., A pen, a nice tote! Thank you ladies.

Just experienced discrimination as a (straight white) male. Asking for my small shopping bag because it's policy. My girlfriend offered her personal bag and they said No its okay". Moments later other customers come in with shopping bags (all female) and don't get approached by the "policy".The "policy" that isn't displayed anywhere out front or has the accomodations to solidify that policy. They have everything you could think of, and are extremely kind and knowledgeable.
