Real Canadian Superstore Borden Avenue

Decent grocery store with many options. I would have to say that I’m giving 3 stars because they NEVER have a good selection of chicken. And it’s typically super over priced.I do like that they carry a good selection of dairy free and gluten free products and have Home and Clothing sections. Joe fresh is well, fresh. The staff here are typically pretty good too, I haven’t ever had a single issue.

I bought a few things. I bought bananas and some little baby bananas. 4234. Disappointed because they didn't ripen up. Believe it or not, I still have them. I'm going to be back in Peterborough in a couple days. I will bring it back to show the store. It cost me over $5 for the bananas.

This grocery store is hit or miss. The lottery is never working at the tills even though they say sold here". The other night I was there at 9:40pm and of course I couldn't buy my ticket at the till so they sent me to customer service. The girl at customer service was there talking with another co-worker and told me she had already closed out the lottery because they close at 10pm. I said but it's 9:45pm and she looked at me and said sorry. They both just stared at me as if to say why are you still standing here?"

Very friendly staff, varieties of fruits and vegetables. Best thing I like about stock is they have mention the product of country.... Not seen in many stores. Green leafy vegs are fresh and water keep spraying over. I liked the inventory they have. They have everything. Literally everything.

Worst service this morning. Service so poor I will now boycott the store.Needed 4 same items from their outside skid(windshield washer fluid) same size, same brand, only type. I grabbed one to bring in and scan 4 times or do the ‘4 of’ option.Went to the exit side of the self checkout and asked the attendant to walk near the newly installed gates so it would open and I could just purchase the 4 units, only 2 customers at the self checkout ……she said I had to go around and through the store to access the self checkout….hmmmm, not as easy as I would have liked, but no problem…..so I walked all the way around, through the store to the checkout.Scanned the one unit I carried in, scanned it a second time, and it wouldn’t let me scan a third. I tried and tried and the attendant said I had to wait between scans. I did and it worked again. The attendant then said how many do I want and I told her 4, she then said that it won’t scan more than 1 of the same(which it did, and gave a progressive price each time), it wouldn’t scan the last two but the hand scanner worked, and the attendant said I couldn’t do that and that it wouldn’t work. 4 showed on the screen, all separate, then she said it won’t let me complete the transaction and I have to go out and get the number of units I wanted to buy and scan each separately !! I said I’ve done it before , yet she was not interested, and said that was my only option!!!!Well if that’s my only option to buy 4 jugs of wiper fluid at Real Canadian Superstore, and sending me back out to get the other 3?!…….F that!Went to Home Depot, spent almost $0.50 less per unit and scanned the 1 jug 4 times!I’ve spent thousands and thousands over the years, and fully supported this store……until today!

It’s a wind tunnel comin in from the Lansdowne place entrance, blew my friends dress off we had to awkwardly walk around holding the strap up while we shopped. Joe fresh has some nice pjs and I found my China Lily so what more could you ask for.

In a smaller CENTRE such as Peterborough this store does well. A good selection of organic and vegetarian friendly items. Good staff nice environment.

Worse experience ever than any other store, I need to grab the medicine for cold, for kid. I was there at 9.56pm. But they were going to close and guy named ANDY said that we already served our last customer and we're closing now. I told home you still have 4 minutes left and I will be quick just need only medicine for the kid. But he didn't listen and arrogantly said no we're close. I got mad I told I will complain about you and he clearly said I'm the store head do whatever you like.Never had a such bad experience like this

They have a large water bottle policy that you can’t get your deposit back, you can only get more water. I switched to Culligan delivery so now I have to find a store that will take my bottles back. It doesn’t feel like this is customer friendly. I think they need to think this through better. ………….update…….Thanks for a response, but this is not a solution. If you would like 5 stars, you will allow for the water bottles to be returned. I am pretty sure you are breaking some regulations by calling it a “deposit” and then not actually providing the “deposit” if the customer wanted it…. It’s like you are breaking a contractual agreement bc you have a high theft store. You are not considering what is fair business practices for the people who actually make you money Vs steal from you. Definition Deposit= “a sum payable as a first installment on the purchase of something or as a pledge for a contract, the balance being payable later.”

Horrible new loss prevention measures at self checkout. Never going back to that again. Takes forever..these were just some of the rules explained to me by the attendant:Hand scanner is for large items. If you use it and fail to place item in correct area to left of checkout then system codes and assistance is neededEvery item has to be individually scanned and then placed on the bag carousel before another item can be scanned. So if you have 5 of the same, you can't just quickly scan one five times.If you don't select that you brought your own bag, he system codes and assistance is needed.Trash. Loblaws trash.
