Grassroots K9

I had the privilege of working with Michael P. at GRK9 to train my GSD. Michael created a clear training plan from the beginning and was upfront about expectations. With his knowledge and hard work, he completely transformed our lives. From feeling helpless and never taking our reactive and nervous GSD anywhere, he now explores the world with us! Can't thank Michael and GRK9 enough, will always recommend to anyone looking for real world dog training.Michael was extremely involved in every step of the training process. Always making himself available to us via phone/text/email. Never shying away from problems we encountered throughout the training process. There's no one I would trust more with Racky than him. We did several private lessons with him and a 3 week board and train. At the board and train, Racky worked with Michael P. and Andrew, who trained him on the ecollar.Both of them treated our dog as their own, integrating training with fun activities (teaching him how to swim). Additionally, they gave us the confidence as owners to give our dog the best life we could. Shoutout to Michael P. and Andrew, Racky (and our) mentors :)

I run the a police k9 unit for the largest mid major Law Enforcement Department in New York State. With that being said it is my responsibility to make sure my handlers have the best training possible, and we found it! We learned how to Catch Dogs safely for the handler as well and very importantly as the Police K9. As the industry is evolving mike of grassroots K9 trainers are teaching the class and do so for one goal. Making US better at what we do. I’m not sure what kind of canine program you are in but there are many out there that involve being aggressive to your K9 counter part. That is something once I took over our unit that we pride ourselves and never doing. Trying to learn corrections with positive reinforcement and learning different things without conflict for the dogs as well as for us. so I believe these dog trainers are some of the best at what they do. They are young, but they have a knack for it. These three days just on Decoy working with Michael Nezbeth of grassroots K9 out of Canada. He and his staff offered a wealth of knowledge. If you are interested in having him come out, just do it you will not regret it!

We were fortunate enough to spend three full days with Mike and Tay Tay. It’s obvious through Mike’s social media and network of experts that he clearly knows what he’s doing, and he did not fail to exceed expectations! Mike is really good at breaking down a dogs behavior into the micro pieces needed to identify where the change needs to happen and comes up with a plan very quickly. In a few short days, we saw several dogs make tremendous progress in areas their handlers have been struggling with. Mike genuinely cares for the dogs and wants to give them and their handlers the best experience for the time they have together by giving us handlers the tools needed to maximize the dogs potential… all while making it fun and having a great time! I would highly recommend him and Grassroots K9 and feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from them.

I recently attended a Grassroots K9 decoy/bitework seminar in Buffalo, NY, which was co-instructed by CRK9. The training was phenomenal. What I found to be most helpful was the theory behind the application. As a decoy who has some experience in the suit, and who has attended other decoy seminars/camps, I found this training very useful. It was especially nice to learn how to use my physical skills in more efficient and practical ways. I would definitely recommend Grassroots K9.

Great organization. Our trainer Sukhpreet was extremely helpful with training our reactive mastiff. We have seen great improvement from when we first started. Also gave us great tips for handling our dog in different situations. Definitely recommend her for anyone looking for a great trainer for their dog.

What a great experience at the 3rd annual working dog seminar! Grassroots K9 did a tremendous job hosting. Was wonderful meeting everyone and learning new things with the professionals they invited in. Thanks again for all the details put into the 3 days!

Mike came out to Sacramento as a part of K9s United who hosted an amazing four day seminar at no expense to about 40 dogs and their handlersThe training was great and so was the one on one time with trainers. I can really appreciate Mike’s passion in dog training and his willingness to share itHitting home on the basics to solve seemingly difficult problems never seems to fail. I definitely recommend anyone who’s working a dog to reach out to Mike for training, and if you’re not already following him on YouTube…. you’re wrong

Couldn’t have a better experience with the entire team from Grassroots K9. By far the best at communicating the why’s of training affectively and proficiently regardless of your skill set. From the fundamentals, all the way up to the most intricate parts of training. This is a one stop shop. Can’t wait to work with Mike, and his team again.
