In the middle of trying to sell my condo and move had an issue and had to make a claim. Andrea Symons was very helpful and very easy to work with as I was splitting time between Surrey and Victoria, so had to have some family members help out on the Surrey end. Everything went very smoothly and I am very happy how it all went.

We had a leak in our kitchen that turned into a much bigger issue than anticipated, including black mold in two rooms, glue with asbestos under the tiles that required specialized removal, re-tiling, re-painting, a new dishwasher, etc. etc. Westland Insurance was amazing to deal with and in fact the company hired to do the repairs, Belfor, told us we were extremely lucky to be insured by them as they were one of the best. Special Kudos to our claims represenative, Andrea Symons, who could not have been more patient and helpful. She answered all of our questions efficiently and thoroughly and with grace and humour. It certainly helped get us through a very stressful period! Thanks Westland and thanks Andrea!

First time during a lifetime of paying home insurance that I needed to use it in Feb 2019. Tree down on house caused roof damage and personal upset. Worked with Andrea Symons who from the outset was informative and helpful. Clearly a professional, Andrea made sure I understood each step of the process and provided helpful guidance and advice. A tough situation was made a lot easier to deal with because of Andrea's support. Not many insured will ever have to deal with a claim of this type, but if they are with Westland and get connected to Andrea then they can expect a professional response.

I have one of the best experience with Sau Wan Luu when my house was badly damaged from sewer back up in 2014. She was so friendly, courteous and professional and handled my claim with prompt and efficient manner that was required at that time. We were so happy to deal with Sau Wan Luu. Again, recently, she came to our service, when we had a water damage. As usual, she came to visit the damage on the very same day it happened and provided us with genuine and professional advice. She is surely an asset to Westland Insurance. I wish her every success.

I've had an excellent support since the day one when I had to call to report the damage done to our house by a car crash. It was significant.The adjuster Andrea Symons came right on the next day, made the assessment, assured and led us to the temporary housing arrangement, with care and kindness.It has been a long haul, as the entire restoration and repair took almost half a year, during that time Andrea stayed just as steadily as we wanted, making sure that we could come back to home safely when all the necessary restoration and repair work were completed.And yes it's now all in order Andrea!We knew the limit of payouts by the company as you made it clear in the first place that the less for the costs, the better. We went along with that in mind. It worked. We've had such a great understanding with each other.Thank you Andrea, we'll definitely recommend Westland Insurance to anybody.

I have had a terrible experience with Westland as have my parents when it comes to settling a claim. In my case we had our pipes burst in December and, given my parents’ situation knew not to do anything without calling the Westland adjuster first. I was able to get through quickly but then was assigned someone from Claimspro, which is their contracted out adjusters. It took months to get everything clean and repaired. I was given conflicting information from the adjuster with almost no follow up so I was left to pretty much manage the restoration company that they hired on my own. It was only because of my project managing (thankfully that is my job) that I was able to everything completed in a few months. That was the end of March. We were out of pocket quite a bit of money and I kept following up to find out what was happening. I finally called Westland after months of nothing coming to me from the adjuster and found out that I actually had an adjuster at Westland who had never reached out to me. She indicated that if a claim is made after hours it goes to Claimspro but actually she was the one in the background reviewing everything. But no contact. She mentioned that she was also waiting on the Claimspro adjuster for things which was delaying my claim and he had indicated that he was waiting for me!!! I forwarded all the communication to her to show that everything had been sent more than one month ago. Anyway a cheque was supposedly coming by June! Which never made it because Westland sent it to the wrong Claimspro office but again never followed up with me. This was Joe mid July. Still waiting. It was supposed to be delivered today but again no Chris, no follow up. Onus completely on me to completely keep bugging them. Meanwhile had to take out a loan to pay for things. At least in my case supposedly something is coming my way while in my parents case they got $0. Their website claims to provide customer service and be there for you but it is completely the opposite. Find someone else. They just want your money.

I've had house insurance from Westland for about 3 years after making the switch from my previous provider (Westland was price equivalent but gave more coverage). Recently my wife's bike was stolen and I needed to get some information on whether a claim on my insurance would be beneficial or not. Sarah Race was great in guiding me through the process and providing clear information and support on making a claim. The process seemed convoluted at the time, but she was able to answer all my questions and provide honest and timely advice. Thanks Sarah Race!
