This is one of those places blending into it's environment. You probably went by it a hundred times not knowing. 5 years in this area and i now just ate here. What a fool i am. Never again will i order elsewhere. So fresh and amazingly tasty. Super friendly. P.s. you'll need a translator...that being said..you know you're getting great authentic food.

there are two types of folks who won’t like it herethose who lack taste, and those who lack melanin.for the rest of us fortunate people, the food is incredible. all the meat skewers were great, the noodles were immaculate, and they have a merry Christmas sign on their fridge year round.

If you're someone that subscribes to western ideals of what good service means, don't come here.If you're someone that's looking for a unique opportunity to have a glimpse of northern Chinese cuisine, come here.I called to ask what their hours of operation were, and the lady on the line didn't speak any English. That's when I knew it was legit.Walking into the place the first thing that will hit you is the smell of the grill, and the rich blends of spices they use in their skewered meats.The decor, and ambience reminds me of the hole-in-the wall restaurants you'd find in Asia. It's ironic because the restaurant is just located in a dilapidated building with antiquated furniture. To me it adds to the experience.There's a grandma in her 60s working about, prepping meats, cutting vegetables, and if you speak mandarin, she'll take your order. I didn't so I pointed at pictures. The main chef however will help you order what you want in very limited english.I can vouch for all the meats that you can order on skewers. I've been there twice in two days to confirm that the quality wasn't one off.The restaurant and the people within it epitomizes the immigrant narrative. They work their heart out to provide you the best food they can, but they won't be able to interpret your every need. Speak up if you need something.

Great place to have Chinese food in Winnipeg. The stir fry dishes have an amazing and strong wok heat taste.The noodles are hand pulled and very filling. The texture is delicious! However, I'm a bit disappointed with the soup. It seems to have a decent amount of MSG. Even though, I still suggest you to try the noodle itself.They also serve Chinese barbeque (in skewers portions), hot pot, and dessert. I'd say that their prices are reasonable, slightly cheap, for the portion you get.Overall, it's worth trying their noodles and wok dishes. You won't be unhappy or hungry after eating them.

Amazing bbq and the best Northern Chinese food I’ve had in Winnipeg. I hesitate to call the experience life-changing, but I wish I had discovered this place years ago. We ordered lamb and chicken heart skewers, the bbq green beans (fave), spicy tinfoil clams, bbq eggplant and the mixed veggie salad (a must). Everything was expertly spiced and balanced. Don’t come expecting western restaurant service or to communicate in English and you won’t be disappointed. The menu is in English and has pictures for many of the dishes.

They have a few dishes that I go back for like lamb skewers, spicy chicken gristle, and pork hock with brown sauce. Can be pricey if you go for bbq. Although i've been wanting to try their malatang they're usually out of stock when I go. Good option to try out occasionally.

The first time I came here I wasn't as impressed. The second time was better.The first time we got the hot pot with pancakes on the side. I was not a fan of the pancakes. Very mediocre. The stuff inside was fine.The dumplings were good!For skewers....The lamb skewers were the best.The beef skewers second for me.The chicken skin was fine but we were expecting a drier crunchier skin and it was more limp and moist.For something different we ordered the ox throat skewers. It was bland and didn't taste like much, however the point is dip in the sauce that was very good. It's spicy and gives a tingle.We also did an egg noodle dish that was tasty. You can taste a hint of vinegar that helps cut the fat I'm the dish.Street parking is available
