Gracie Barra Ottawa East (Orleans)

As a mom of four, it's been extremely important to me to immerse my kids in some form or physical activity, and have we ever fallen absolutely head over heals with Gracie Barra Ottawa East. From BJJ to Thai to Barra Fit classes, there's something for everyone one of us. We've explored classes at all hours of the day, and it fits great. The staff is on-point and so welcoming. Truly my fav hangout.

I've only been able to make it to one class thus far. As an overweight person the class was challenging but I was able to go at my own pace. I felt at some points I was letting my training partners down because I couldn't keep up. This is truly a brotherhood" I was never made to feel less than and was always supported by everyone in the class. I will be back to GB1 plus other classes in the near future. Trying something new can/is overwhelming for someone with anxiety but Professor Pat puts you at ease. Don't be afraid of being a beginner."

My 16yr daughter started training at Gracie Barra after moving to Ottawa to do her second semester of grade 11. Joe, the manager, and the entire club were very welcoming, having me join a class with my daughter to check it out. It's great knowing she is part of a hardworking and respectful club. The class selection and abundance are amazing, with sparring focusing on safety while constantly improving. Very grateful she has this club and people in her life.

Excellent gym, as a first timer it was an exceptional experience. The classes are fantastic and it is very clear they take great pride in what they do.

This gym is so welcoming, all the staff are so informative and really take the time to make sure you are happy and get the best experience. Any concerns or questions I’ve had are answered quickly and with all the information I need. They made sure I had the right package suited for me and I can say with confidence I highly recommend this gym for anyone wanting to get into Muay Thai or BJJ whether beginner or advanced. Gracie Barra gym in Orleans is the real deal. This branch is conveniantly located just off Jean D'arc and St. Joseph. Very welcoming crew and staff.They offer some of the best training available in Brazilian Jujitsu and Muay Thai. They are fully equipped and also have a fitness center, and a boxing ring all located inside.After training they do have a smoothie Bar equipped with protein and many different types of dairy products to choose from no matter what type of diet your on.Membership fees here are some of the best rates in the city and trust me I have looked around.

An incredible blend of kindness discipline and safety required for kids classes mixed with the blood, guts and determination needed for the competition team evenly distributed to all age groups and skill levels.I have been active with this school since signing up for the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program when it opened. I have now recently started taking private classes with Professor Pat Lavigne. Having had private lessons in the past I can say that I have never had a bad private lesson, Professors Pat's however are by far the most technical, efficient, fun and effective lessons I have ever had.There is not enough time or words to express the gratitude I have for Derek and Pat. Amazing, clean gym with excellent instructors and a great atmosphere! After a trial, I signed up for a jiu-jitsu membership with no prior martial arts experience, and felt welcomed by the instructors and the other students from day 1. I would absolutely recommend anyone who is thinking about giving BJJ a try to check this place out!

Best gym in town! My son and I train here and we both love it. The atmosphere is great and the instructors and staff are very friendly. You feel at home the moment you step inside.

Whether you've been practicing for a while or it's your first class, the curriculum implemented here will truly help you hone your skills and grow.This wonderful curriculum combined with Pat's genuine dedication to his students makes this place the best martial arts school around.Oh, and the facilities! Smoothies and espressos made to order, a sauna, ice baths, showers framed out of nice wood (bamboo?). It's like having access to a fancy spa right after you finish training.Words can't do this amazing place justice. You really need to come try it out!
