Gentek Building Products

After conducting two interviews with Gentek, they did not have the decency to give me a decision after all the time and effort I put into the interview process. I was even lied to by the manager who said something “unexpected” came up so they couldn’t make a decision and that they will get back to me in two weeks. I replied saying that I don’t mind waiting for a decision and then immediately got an automatic reply that mentioned he was going on vacation... I followed up again and did not receive a response. It has now been four weeks.Totally disappointed with the unprofessionism.

They cannot hold materials that are in stock, so if accessories or non in stock items are required to go along with the order you are SOL. My best advice, do not buy aluminum products from Gentek, bottom line it will hurt your business and reputation.

Worst service ever. I strongly recommend other suppliers.

Great prices and good selection. However, the absolute worse service at the desk. Understaffed and undertrained. You are lucky to be noticed in a timely manner of at all, and if you have a question well, they are likely to not have the answer or even the staff to help you. And remember NOT to go at lunch time. I feel for the receptionist who has to deal with disgruntled customers.

I am beyond impressed with this company and can’t speak highly enough about not only the product but the outstanding employees that Gentek employs. I absolutely love the siding I ordered for my house . We went with the brick look on the bottom and Board n Batton on the top . The product , value, design and colour - outstanding ! There was a small glitch with a few pieces that had absolutely nothing to do with the manufacturer - rather than play the blame game Gentek resolved the issue within hours and replaced the pieces !!! I highly recommend this company and product !

Poor quality windows - Bought 4 back for our home. They have fogged up 3 times in the past month - this never happened with previous windows (30 years). Thought it might be strange weather - spoke to neighbour whose house faces same side, no problem with their windows. Called Gentek offices - told categorically that this is normal, windows should fog up ??? These windows are obviously made of poor quality material. Will be sure to advise friends and family not to buy Gentek products.

We purchased a home with approximately 40 Gentek windows, and in the process of have two failed seals replaced under warranty, it would appear as though a large number of windows had already been replaced by the previous owners. The initial seal failure was addressed well by the warranty team, but this latest issue persists and I'm told by Gentek that it's my responsibility. I can appreciate that warranties need limitations, but given the sheer number of failed seals in these windows, this is clearly a case of poor manufacturing. We'll no doubt end up replacing our windows in the next couple of years, and there's not much chance that we'll give Gentek a look. Substandard product and a service team that isn't empowered to support a customer makes for a rough customer experience.
