Insight Eyecare - Doctors of Optometry

Both doctors are very friendly and responsible. They detected my husband's glaucoma and transferred him to specialist right away. When they perform the eye exam, they check very thoroughly, and I am always feel assured by their professionalism. Their receptionist is nice too, bonus! All my family go to their clinic now. Definitely I will return and highly recommend them!

I had a really low key time at my appointment - which means a lot to me and honestly deserves 6/5 stars. Everyone is super friendly and helpful without being pushy. They also let me book everything online, including filling out paperwork (which can give me anxiety if I have to do it in person) and I'm very grateful. It's taken me a long time to get an eye exam due to anxiety and I appreciate their flexibility and understanding.

I want to start off by saying I have been coming here since 2019 and I have missed 2-3 appointments in the past due to personal reasons and was never informed of their policy of dismissing patients as a result of missing appointments. However, I phoned them and booked three appointments for me and my mom and my sister (whom I do not live with, I am married and live in Burnaby, they live in Surrey) with no issues at all. Later that same day, they phoned me, and told me they must cancel the appointments I had made for myself, my mom and my sister. They told me because I had missed appointments in the past that they would rather keep the openings “for patients who will actually come”. I was a bit taken back by this; however, I did agree with them in regard to me missing a couple appointments, but as for my mother and sister, they have not missed any appointments, and it would’ve been my sister’s first visit there, my mom has been there before, and never missed an appointment and was on time. The doctor and the receptionist together wouldn’t keep my family’s appointments, even though I offered to pay a deposit to keep the appointments. They told me I would have to book during the week if I want to come here, and I agreed to that, I said “I will schedule an appointment for myself during the week since I AM the one who’s missed appointments, but I want to keep my mothers and sister’s appointment as I have to drive them there on my day off, which is Saturday” I expressed that I really like the doctor at this clinic and the service and would like to keep the appointments for my family at least, and mentioned that I live in Burnaby but want to continue with appointments here, the doctor and the receptionist seriously told me “go find a clinic close to your home”…. I myself work at a clinic as a receptionist, and never in the years that I have worked, have I EVER allowed myself to speak to someone in that ill manner, or ever told a patient “we rather keep the openings for patients who actually would come to their appointments”, I have had many patients cancel the very last minute or miss appointments over a dozen times, but we still book patients in and NOT deny them treatment, because of missing a couple appointments. Life isn’t perfect, things come up, and plans don’t always go the way expected. I cannot believe the disappointment after I told them and expressed how happy and satisfied, I am with the doctor and the service here, that they would tell me to go find a clinic closer to my home. I have referred many patients here, as I work close by and any of my patients’ that has asked for a recommendation, I have given them the number for this place and I really wish I hadn’t, if this is how they treat patients. Very unprofessional and rude in the way they communicated their concern. If there had been any issues at all, they should have informed me the first time I called, and not let me book appointments then call me HOURS later to cancel. VERY VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!

I had an appointment today because I was having trouble reading and felt as though it was time to transition to progressive lenses. Dr. Sahota performed a very thorough eye exam and took the time to explain my options for both contacts and glasses. He also took the time to address all of my questions and I didn’t feel rushed. They have a fantastic variety of glasses and the staff were also helpful in suggesting frames that would best suit me. It was a great experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to take the rest of my family here for eye exams or glasses, should the need arise.

Our visit with Dr Sahota was nothing short of amazing. He took the time to go through every detail of the procedure, always using a gentle and caring approach. In terms of quality care, he truly stands out! Therefore, it's without hesitation that our family and friends would be highly recommended to seek him out.

I had a great time switching over to Insight Eyecare. I had worn glasses most of my life before going to them but would get headaches since they were not properly prescribed. I was also very hesitant to try contacts but the way the entire team guided me and taught me how to safely use them was extraordinary. I would highly recommend the clinic not only for high quality products but also their excellent customer service. All the staff is extremely welcoming and the doctors ensure the patient are satisfied before stepping out the door.

I have always had a great experience at Insight Eyecare. Dr Karen Sahota is very friendly and knowledgeable. Their front desk staff is also very helpful over the phone. I appreciated the help and advice their team member Katrina gave me when it came to ordering contact lenses. They are always make you feel comfortable and in good hands!
