Passed my Non-Restricted PAL course today. Great course and amazing instructors. They crack good jokes and are extremely knowledgeable. Listen to every question and answer them the best they can. The handling of the firearms can be intimidating at first but by your exam you will pass with 100% after the hands on help and verbal help they give you during your training. Overall I’m very pleased with this course and with YR Firearms Academy!

Very professional staff, they were willing to accommodate me with rescheduling my CFSC booking. The instructors did a great job teaching both the theory and practical portions. They made the course very interesting and easy to learn. They also encouraged questions and open discussions about the content. I would not hesitate to book another course here in the future or encourage others to do the same.

The staff at York Region Firearms Academy North are amazing! Students are able to confidently learn how to safely handle Non-Restricted and Restricted firearms throughout their course weekends. The classroom portion really allows students to ask questions and learn everything they need to know in classroom. The instructors are amazing and you will have a great experience with this crew! Janice and Rick are the best!

This previous weekend my two brothers and my best friend took part in the non restricted course. Rick and Janice were very knowledgable and delivered the course in an enjoyable manner yet very professionally and in a informative fashion. Most attending had little to no previous experience handling a firearm and they walked you through each process in how to do so safely and efficiently for that day and beyond. Upon finishing I felt it was a very good course for all walks and would highly suggest to anyone looking into acquiring their PAL. Thanks it was a pleasure

Excellent experience at YR; Rick and Janice are not only knowledgeable and experienced, but are excellent teachers and communicators. I never got the feeling or impression that they are there to rubber stamp" people and get everyone licensed

Today i wrote my Non restricted course. I have had no previous knowledge of anything in this course. All of the instructers where so helpful and kind through the whole process. They really make it a fun and enjoyable experience. Everything was to the point and they had no problem explaining everything and anything having to do with firearms. If you are thinking of learning about firearms or joining the community these are the people you need to see. I still cant get over how welcoming and engaging they were.

I just completed my non restricted firearms course in Elmvale with Instructors Rick and Janice.Rick definitely gets two thumbs up! Great knowledgeable guy with patience to explain The basics to a bunch of new individuals who don’t have any idea or have ever handled a fire arm before.Both area very passionate and knowledgable in recreational firearms and Janice’s family has a long history in the business. I can’t think of anybody better in Ontario than these two to take your firearms course with.

As someone with limited firearms experience I couldn't have asked for better instructors than Rick O'Neal and Janice Holmes. They gave me the knowledge and confidence to pass the tests and feel equipped to handle firearms.
