South Calgary Endodontics

I went to see Dr. Staniloff for a consultation. I was asked to do a $400 scan before he took my history or examined my problem. I was told that he refused to see me when I asked his assistant to speak with him. I wanted to clarify why I needed it as I had several scans already and I felt his assistant was doing a poor job explaining it to me. The whole experience felt unprofessional - almost like this dentist is motivated primarily by money rather than patient-centered care.

Dr. Staniloff saved my tooth that was messed up by a different endodontist in the city. I initially went to a different endodontics office and had a root canal done, then I had more pain afterwards. Then, my dentist referred me to see Dr. Staniloff who took a 3D scan and found out that the first doctor didn't complete the job for 2 canals and completely missed one canal (out of 4 total) which caused the infection and the pain. Dr. Staniloff re-did the root canal. Now, it has been over a month and all the pain is gone. Dr. Staniloff saved my tooth. (First endodontist offered to pull out a tooth and do an implant with her) Dr. Staniloff was very attentive to my pain and questions throughout all the procedure and the visits. Yes, like other reviewers said, this office was slightly more expensive, but it's worth every penny. Dr. Staniloff's x-ray scanning machine was different than the one used at the other office and actually caught everything. The image clearly showed the 4th canal that was hidden which the other office 3D x-ray failed to do.

Very disappointing experience. I was invited in for an 8:30am appointment and waited an hour and half to see the dentist who was running late. The dentist did not apologize once for his tardiness. The actual appointment consisted of an x-ray and conversation about my tooth that I already knew was infected. The doctor told me it wasn't an emergency and didn't care that I was in pain and on antibiotics for a week waiting to see him. I booked the entire morning off and had zero work done to my tooth. I have had endodontic work in the past, and this is by far the most underwhelming experience I've had.

They really will give the best effort at providing the best healthcare possible. Slightly more expensive, but great amenities and comfortable environment. They are making things work within my tight schedule. They answered all my questions and were open and honest about everything.

They were able to see me right away. Top level equipment and friendly staff. The doctor was thorough and went through all the options and answered all my questions. Excellent dentist.

Don't care about your pain at all

Hard sell me to get a 2d and 3d X-ray for a total of $450 before they’ll tell me what a root canal would cost. Find out the root canal is $2200-2600 plus some $75 fee and that is NOT INCLUDING the $1400 it’ll cost for a dentist to cap the tooth. So, close to $5000 to possibly save one tooth. Pulled it instead.Feel ripped off over the X-ray cost because if they were up front about the tooth repair cost, I would never have gotten the X-rays in the first place.

Waited for 1.5 hour, unprofessional.
