Petland Medicine Hat

I have had the best experience with this pet store specifically! All my fish that were bought from here didn’t die immediately like the ones I got from animal world, its a clean store and offers a great selection for birds! Cashiers are super genuine & kind.

The staff is always friendly and helpful, but yesterday I had a staff member go above and beyond for me by allowing me to purchase something just as they were closing due to me living hours away. They were kind, courteous and I can't thank them enough for helping us out! Our pet is so grateful too :) Thank you, Petland Medicine Hat! You make the 4 hour drive worth it every time!

Store is adequate...disappointed the carry adoptable cats but not small adoptable dogs...the reasoning is obtuse...having puppies/small dogs that are adoptable already---and the stunned reason I was given...(don't support puppy mills) is ligical...BUT THE CATS ARE FROM HUMANE SOCIETY...AS WOULD BE THE DOGS...so its a stupid double standard!---needs to be rethought!

Absolutely incredible fish and reptile department. I have worked in the animal industry for a long time and have grown quite the knowledge in fish and reptile care (even managed a fish and reptile department in another city) and Colin is Absolutely fantastic! you are in incredible hands with him and his stunning department! I wish all petlands were run like this one!

Customer service needs to be better here. I attended store on BOGO fish Friday. There were 3 employees in the store and only 1 overworked employee in the fishroom. I'm wondering if this is a ploy so they sell less fish on BOGO Fridays...The sore is great, animals well kept and beautiful fish...workers need to be more engaged...I run a company with 70 plus employees and not one would have a problem helping the other people on my team. If the employees were actually engaged and wanted to be here, they may provide better customer service.I was there to stock 120Gal aquarium but I will for sure take my business elsewhere. Too bad as well, as I have waited for this Friday for 2 weeks to stock my tank, but guess I will just go elsewhere as I cannot spend my money at a company that dies not want me business.I hope management reads this, because it's a complete sin to have a beautiful store like this and to be ran without customer service not being paramount.

Collin has been the absolute most help while starting up fishkeeping. He's always up for a chat and extremely knowledgeable about his department. The rest of the staff is always super friendly as well.

I went in here just with the family to have a nosey at the type of pets being sold here and I came out with a lovely fish tank, followed by a few more visits and a collection of some tropical fish. Huge thank you to Colin who has a fountain of knowledge for a novice pet fish owner like me.

Great associates. Prices are more here than at other pet stores. Small selection of live animals (birds, rodents, reptiles, & fish), sometimes they have cats for adoption.
