Cannington Manor Provincial Park

Interesting, nice set up in the main building. I wouldn't recommend it for a special trip, but if you're in the area and have some time to kill, it's worth it.

I really enjoyed my visit here. Lots of history to read about on site. Thank you Vivienne for the tour, you were very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The nearby Hewlett house is also worth a visit.

Neat to see, friendly and helpful staff in the village. Interesting piece of our history.

Interesting place. The website should be specific about directions and hours. At the time of our visit it wasn't staffed and we really could have visited the day before on Sunday since it was self guided and open.

It would be exceptionally helpful if the hours of access to Cannington Manor and The Historic House were posted on a road sign in advance and if not that, at least on the sign once you get there. We drove out on a Tuesday. Got to the Humphreys Hewlett historic house only to be met by the locked gate. We could walk in, and some of us did, but we had an old dog with us who was not be able to make the walk so one of us missed out on seeing the house. It’s such a fabulous house and village. So interesting and educational. Yes, we could have checked the hours on the internet, but it’s smack in the middle of summer and besides unlocking a gate would only take moments. Not just for old dogs, but people with mobility issues as well.

We were here to locate ancestors, walking through the gravesite was a surreal experience.Very disappointed that it was not open, even though we searched the website quite thoroughly, all indications were, it would be open!

Entrepreneurs were boujee. Made me a nice rope.

The sign of the highway said open but it was closed unfortunately but we were able to walk around and read the plaques. V
