CIBC Branch with ATM

I went to this branch because it was open on Saturday. My elderly family member has an account with CIBC and I wanted to use my power of attorney to find out the status of their account.First of all I did have a copy of my POA not the original which is reasonable and not my issue.My issue is the fact that they were extremely rude and were lecturing me about how I can and cannot use her account. Saying I can't access my family members online banking or withdraw money from her account.While I did not even attempt to withdraw any money or ask to withdraw anything from her account - this is completely false. I am enduring POA and have legal authority to deal with financial matters. There are no restrictions on the POA so I don't know why these branch staff find it necessary to add further restrictions. They seem to think they have the authority to by pass BC laws regarding power of attorneys and legal documents. No where in the BC power of attorney act does it say I cannot withdraw cash or access my family members account.I have been given the trust to deal with these matters and don't appreciate in having CIBC staff treating me like I'm guilty when I hadn't done anything wrong. They have the ability to review a POA in suspicious transactions (like suspicious transactions at any other bank account) but nothing had happened. I have POA for various family members at other institutions and this has never been an issue once.What I find extremely contradictory is how they said I could get a debit card for my family member after an appointment and POA document has been authorized. Well if one were so inclined they could simply use this debit card to withdraw cash... so how does that make sense?The indian female teller told me I should go to a CIBC branch in Vancouver. False. I can go to any CIBC I want. Then she said I should make an appointment with the other co-attorney. Again false. I can act independently of the other POA which it clearly states in the document. This teller and her supervisor" Esteban were extremely rude and clearly lack any knowledge

The staff called Nancy was extremely rude. She yelled at me and wave her arm around me as if she was going to start a fight with me. Extremely uncivilized!

Some of the people here are lovely. Service is usually slow though. Unfortunately, they will give bad investment advice to increase their bottom line. Do not trust their recommendations because likely their recommendations are self serving.

Even though they hold my mortgage they continue for 4 months to send mail to my old address. Even though I also I went in person to change my address twice COMPLETE FAILURE

If you get Arnold Hizole extension 225 as your personal banker for anything important, run as fast as you can and find another banker. The man is flat out incompetent to the point he can’t even get peoples names right after 3 months and numerous conversations. If this is what CIBC fronts as competent financial professionals, I seriously wonder what all their fees are paying for? Fancy waters for the executive board?

Staffs were so slow.And the male teller was so rude and his name started A? Ashu? Something like that.I wouldnt go back.

Worst bank/branch ever!All they want to do is pass your request on to someone else to deal with. Took me literally weeks of phoning, voice msgs, and emails to get any response to what should have been a straightforward transaction.Incompetence and not caring seems to be their mode of operation. If you are thinking of this branch for your banking, save yourself the frustration and come nowhere near it!Unbelievable how bad these people and this branch is.

very disappointed with the service, did not proceed with my order. The manager Anush Lal, no where to be found. ignoring my calls. zero accountability. Save yourself headache take your business else where, I will be too.

In the course of business I am forced to visit this bank and the tellers are rather rude unhelpful. I have the same issue each time and need to get management involved for very simple transactions that all the other bank process with ease. Despite being a shareholder of their stock I’d rather not be a customer.

These company which I have been only for a few months send me text how satisfied or promotional deals, supposedly. They charge me already over 16$ for having withdrawal more then they allow. While they are aware I am on disability pay. The only way . I found was to take money out to limitate these charges. They had no mercy in the fact that I have lived in my truck for a number of years seeing I cannot afford an apartment because of the cost. 6-7 years on waiting list of bc housing without results. They have taken the last 45$ penalty without fear while this is for the insurance. God judge those individual who make no provision for the fatherless and widows.
