Open for 16 years in this location with a second store in Langford. The bakery offers 100% gluten-free baking. Sells cookies, cakes, fresh bread and lunch options. A delicious alternative to mainstream baked flour products. The storefront is open daily with ample free parking.bindoor window seating or outside on the patio.

Origin has a wide variety of sweet and savoury gluten free baked good that are delicious by any standard! I was recently diagnosed celiac and it’s been a huge help in making me not feel so left out from the good things in life (ie. baked goods)

Easy to park, bike, transit options. Extreme gluten-free environment. I purchased a sour dough bread which had some caraway seeds in it. The bread was a bit glueish but they have many kinds so i will try a different one. Purchased a very nice group of pastries for a dinner party which had a dehydrated sugared blood orange on it. Delicious and everyone loved them. Also got a trail mix granola Bar which is one of the nicest bars i have ever tried and had lots of delicious full sized almonds and a chewy texture. All in all very good experience and i thought the staff were especially sweet ¨̮

The most expensive GF bakery in Canada which is particularly sad for Celiacs living here. Many of their products are dry and the owners provide little more than lip service when you voice concerns. We’ve visited some amazing GF bakery across the country and we’ve just given up on this place. Our advice, make the drive to Ladysmith for some truly wonderful GF breads, desserts and pastries.

I am lucky in that I live in an area with plenty of gluten free options. We stopped in here, hoping to find something that we liked. We picked up a couple of cupcakes and a spinach tart.I love spinach, so I figured that was a homerun for me. It tasted of old seaweed. I can only guess they use frozen spinach. The pastry itself was also too salty...but it wasn't dense, so I'll give a point for that.The carrot cupcake we bought had decent crumb but no flavor at all. It was bland. There wasn't even a cinnamon bite to it, let alone bits of carrot or anything to indicate it was carrot cake. The apple something one we bought was oily and disintegrated upon opening the muffin liner. The taste was also just oily...though there was a background note of the apple.I really wanted to like this place more.Parking was confusing, as Google maps takes you to the wrong side of the building. It is free though. The person who helped us was frazzled but friendly. I hope they can do better going forward.For now, I highly recommend going to downtown and swinging by a coffee shop down there with gluten free goodies. They do it well.

Amazing. Absolutely amazing. Im allergic to dairy, gluten and almonds so it’s hard to find anything I can eat. I’m visiting from California where there is a good deal of gf/df options but I’ve been disappointed every time. I was excited to see a gf bakery here and travelled an hour by bus to get to it and I’m so happy I did. I got the chocolate ganache cupcake (which is a smaller version of of the chocolate ganache cake) and a scone. The chocolate ganache cupcake was so delicious and moist and not too sweet and I nearly cried eating it (I’m not a crier). It’s been so long since I’ve been able to enjoy a pastry and I’m so incredibly happy. The scone was dry and a little gritty but tasted fantastic and was great with some tea. Together the two came to under $10 CAD which was shocking bc in California it would have been easily double that or more. Highly highly HIGHLY recommend. I wish I could get this cake delivered to California for my birthday but delivery is unfortunately only within Canada. So sad! I’d pay good money for this cake.Thank you for letting me enjoy pastries again, even if it was just for one day. It made my trip for sure.

My husband is celiac and dairy free. It is great to be able to go to a bakery where he can eat. Being celiac often means compromising on flavour and or texture. The recipes are all delicious and it’s easy to find what he can and cannot eat. We are now regulars.

Thanks so much for making Gluten Free more than just, bland, tasteless and expensive ! Very friendly little bakery with considerate staff. Tried the Carrot, Date, & Orange Muffin — good except for the flavour of baking soda that wasn't well hidden. Their tea (Imperial Earl Grey) was roundly tasty. It's a cozy spot and the aroma of baked goods was too much to resist.
