Depot Lakes has a moderately challenging trail network with nice views over the water in the late fall to early spring.

We paddled [about 30 minutes] in to our wonderful camping site in late June, 2018. Canoes can be rented. The site was very private, roomy, with a well-built fire-pit and many huge white pine trees. Staff were friendly, helpful and sold huge $5 bags of firewood. The firewood requires splitting so be sure to pack in a small splitting maul [Like a Fiskars X11 - Google it.] Near the camp office are hot showers, flush toilets and tested drinking water -- all surprise bonuses for me. We saw loons and heard them at night, watched a water snake prowl around in front of our site [completely harmless if not provoked], heard a coyote, and heard an osprey hunting over water at our site. Lake water was warm for swimming and our site had a sandy beach. The lake is big enough to spend hours exploring by canoe and it's ridiculously close to Kingston and the 401. This is an UNKNOWN GEM.

Great, quiet ,family friendly camping. I do wish their bathroom facilities were larger, there are only two showers, and that they were more modern. The beach area is very small and could use some grading as it is steep.

Lots of undeveloped shoreline to enjoy on the water with beautiful landscape and wildlife. Many islands and inlets to explore and a partly hidden waterfall.

Spent the weekend here Late-August. The staff were very friendly while giving us a boat ride to our campsite. We stayed at site 5. The site itself was very clean and spacious. There was a nice amount of space that we could share between the five of us. Having a picnic bench and a firepit made it so that it wasn't too difficult to camp for those who are less experienced camping. There is an outhouse at the site as well, but bring your own toilet paper as it is not supplied. You can buy firewood at the main office, as well as ice, for a fair price. Two bundles, paired with some smallerwood scavenged from the woods around the site was enough to last us from six until approximately midnight with plenty to spare. Not too many bugs this time of year eitherThere is a trail going along the lakeside for those who like hiking. I didn't go all the way but about a 10 minute walk from the site there are some rapids with a small secluded pond. The path is not difficult to walk, and judging from the signs would eventually lead to another lake for those interested in Portage. We also rented a canoe, it was in good condition and came with life jackets. At this time of year, it is great weather for canoeing around the lake as the cool wind makes it a lot more bareable.Overall, it was a great experience, and we will likely be coming back next year with the family.

Love this quiet spot to take on nature, take a hike or just hang out. It's very quiet and peaceful. The host of the nearby campground is a lovely person. Beautiful area for a drive.

Light hike. It is through a small camp ground to start but opens up in to a easy walk. Rocky and roots abound but the views are nice

Lovely afternoon hiking the 9km of trails. Similar to Frontenac Park .. secluded forest with some nice water views, undulating trail.
