Marshmallow Animal Shelter

Had my dog kenneled here and they ended up loosing him and when they found him they adopted him out and refused to give him back to me.

They really care about animals. Work with their local veterinarian to keep pets healthy.

I WOULD GIVE A ZERO STAR IF I COULD! My family found a dog and we kept her for a few days and seen if we could find the owner or if anyone would like to care for her. This shelter called me and said she had been adopted out by them and demanded I bring her in. I told them that my family had become very attached to her and we could provide the care she needed, so if she didnt have a home we wanted to keep her. They demanded I surrender the dog and fill out an adopting application. So instead of fighting I did what they wanted. After bringing her in they would not talk to me or give us updates or even consider us for adopting her. My family cried for months. And to this day we have no idea where she ended up. I have since then adopted from 2 other rescues and they were great to work with and told us we have a great environment and loving home for the pets we adopted. There was something special about this dog that just grew love in our hearts for her quickly we still miss her and talk about her and look at her pictures often hoping she is okay. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! EVER!

Love this shelter! They take awesome care of their animals and preparing them for their next journey. Their facility is very clean, consideration taken every step of the way for the safety of the animals. We have adopted 3 cats from them over the last 2 years and couldn't have been happier with how they transitioned to their new settings! Highly recommended, they know their stuff!!!!

We have fostered and adopted through Marshmallow many times. The staff put the animals first and foremost and make sure they have the best care they can get. The applications are in depth to ensure the animals in the shelter don't end up in the same situation.

They have so many cat because they the most unwelcoming front desk person EVER at Lucky Dog boarding. And that is why it's so much easier to just go get a free cat send to have to wait two and a half hours foreign adoption. Maybe if it were a little bit more welcoming people would like to come see the hundred cats that you are hoarding.

BUYERS WARNING:I visited PetSmart in Fargo and met a 3 year old cat from your foundation named [pet]. I immediately fell in love with him and completed my application 20 minutes after meeting him. PetSmart advised me to continue to check in each day with the Marshmallow Foundation's volunteers to help move the process along. I talked to someone twice a day, every day, since last Wednesday. Today when I talked to someone she said Your application is in the final step before the formal approval. I will be calling you soon about how and when to pick him [cat] up." I have been excited and have purchased all of the items and equipment necessary for bringing him home

This rescue said that they would not allow me to adopt a dog due to my disability. I am able to have a job even, and provide income. I live in a building that can accommodate mine and the dogs needs. The dog has been to obedience training (they state on their website). I am heartbroken not only because I do not get to call a sweet looking dog mine, but also because I’ve been made to feel less than due to the way I was born. To preface this, I am a patient, approved adopter waiting for the right little canine at 4 Luv of Dog Rescue. 4 Luv also allows me to volunteer there as well and knows their stuff. I understand if you see an animal you fall in love with here and try to get, but I caution you greatly just on my personal experience.

Not worth filling out the mile long application and waiting forever to even think about getting a response to them. Everyone that knows us knows our animals are like our children including our horses are well taken care of and being told our home is not being considered is a slap in the face. Has anyone seen their personal homes?? We've had to fix the wells before. Need I say more. Don't waste your time trying to adopt a pet here.

We love the marshmallow foundation!! We adopted 2 dogs - Ronin & Link! Both adoptions went so smooth! Ronin is very shy and Cassie was so patient with him and us as we met him. When we decided to adopt Link, Cassie was there again to help us let the boys get to know each other before taking Link home. I highly recommend adopting from here!
