Apple fest $10 admission fee for adult. Everything inside is expensive. Rude staff collecting money! I was taking a group of adult individuals from a non profit organization and was informed by the Burlington lulu lemon gang its mostly for children" . Are the children allowed into museum? Offended by their attitude and lack of inclusion skills."

This is an enjoyable local museum with a wealth of youth programs that are affordable. I appreciate the selection and variety of the activists. It is a small is a local museums on a small plot of land that you'd almost miss it. Complete with a gift shop tours and staff that dress the part. This place is worth a visit as it always has events for people to partake in. Parking is available, handicap access and prices are reasonable.

What a delightful historic home museum in Burlington. Why did I wait so long to visit? The house is beautiful and in such good condition, definitely felt like stepping back in time. The knowledgeable guide was friendly and obviously enjoyed her job, sharing with us many entertaining tidbits of information. Plenty of parking, and lovely grounds that would be great for picnicking in summer. They encourage photos with no flash. So many amazing artifacts. What a fun time we had there. Highly recommended.

Enthusiastic, friendly staff. House itself is nicely presented with plenty of original furniture, which makes this a rare find.BTW during our tour somebody asked whether the dining-room ceiling was modified at the time the wall was taken down to combine two rooms into one. I thought about this afterwards and a clue might be that the ceiling beams have a kind of tie-rodding (looks like iron reinforcement to increase tensile strength) -- I'm told that this approach didn't become popular in N. America until the 1860s, i.e. 30 years after the date of the original building. Hope that helps.

You know some of the most pleasant surprises are very close to anywhere. Ireland House is one such place. Not even an hours drive from downtown Toronto or take a train and bus. n even has a few secrets, like the possibility of a well in the basement. Also how well the staff and volunteers present themselves.Goof knowledge friendly and professional presentation.I think what I like is the fact it was a family home and squired as complete. The wood shed, chopped and ready to use.The kitchen built at the edge so it could be used year round. The old black stove, I am old enough to remember my mother and family preparing Turkey one Christmas in the UK on such a stove. The power was out. This places ignites such memories or the imagination, think about getting up, gathering wood, lighting a fire, hauling some water and starting your day.Oh yeah its -30 c. Well worth a visit.

This museum is the historic homestead of the Ireland family. Easily accessible off Guelph Line. Staff were all friendly and I enjoyed the guided tour. It would be nice if the museum restored the top floor and provided access to the workers' quarters.
