Ben's Meats and Deli

Small stores, lovingly run to share a particular culinary point of view, are my way to happiness. I collect them, like trading cards, often filling in my gap time with visits in order to get inspiration for my next cookery.Ben's had me from the Stroopwafels, which I loved fresh in Amsterdam, and kept me with all the Dutch items, including more foodstuffs and even fan team scarves and shirts.(I grew up in Soestdijk and Ben's brings back memories of both the foods and the way of shopping that's so different than the once-weekly big box shopping that's typical today.)The deli counter is a big win, from traditional Italian salumi to smoked horse (tasty, salty!) to gouda to sub sandwiches (which, yes, at one time I called grinders" and "hoagies").Ben's: go there

This little gem has been open since the 1950’s. Their meat is locally sourced and always amazing. Their service is always great and the cooked food on the weekends (cooked ribs/pulled pork, etc) is excellent.**Biggest GF selection I have ever seen.**Best pulled pork in Edmonton without question.***GF poutine (fresh to order) and the gravy is not too salty!If you are wasting your money at the grocery store meat section, do yourself a favour and head to Ben’s instead. You won’t regret it.

Worst steaks ever purchased. Don't bother buying from this store. I made an effort to specifically go to this store based on the 5 star rating.Tough meat - marinating didn't make any difference. Customer service also lacking - served by a woman, name unknown. All in all not a pleasant experience. Worst representation of Alberta beef .

Huge selection of gluten free items I haven’t been able to find anywhere else, amazing sandwiches, gluten free mini donuts, super knowledgeable and friendly owner and staff. Fantastic place to go! Thanks for being so accommodating for celiacs!

Absolutely AWESOME. It's the old school Butcher, deli the cuts are insane and the owner Dave is extremely helpful and knows his stuff. You feel like you stepped back into the 50's where customers actually mean something. You want fine cuts you go to Ben's Meats and Deli!!

Owner is incredibly helpful and really cares about his work. He (along with the other employees) takes time to talk to customers to make sure every need is met. Prices are good and food is incredible.

Look for gluten free spring rolls, chicken fingers, mini donuts, donuts perogies and much more!We also loved their smoked brisket when they fire up the smoker

I like Ben’s Meats and Deli for their customer service and freezer packages. I appreciate the fact that I can order and usually receive within the same day. I have never had an issue with the meat purchased. While the staff are very busy they are always pleasant to me. In addition to this the owner was very kind and professional toward me when I was having a grumpy day and it is for these reasons why I keep going back.

Perfect cut of brisket at an amazing price! I made my family’s brisket recipe for the first time by myself (covid...) and it was the first time using this shop. WOW! I am so impressed. The price was fair, about $26 for 4 pounds and the flavor and layer of thin fat was insanely good. Butcher that helped us and answered our questions was laid back and friendly too! Can’t wait to visit again for our next cooking adventure.
