If you had a bad experience here in the past, come back. The new owner is working hard and very welcoming. Today there were new carts being delivered!Every hole feels like you have the place to yourself. Greens are interesting and large. Pay attention to the pin placement. It could make a 2 club difference. This is a great value with a feel that reminds me of the dream and nightmare. I am looking forward to what this place may become.

Beautiful course. Very well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. Green fees very reasonable. If you want a beautiful course to play in the U.P., this is it.

Stunningly beautiful golf course. Immaculately maintained. I live in Florida and know nice courses, I would put Hessel Ridge among the top!

We come to LCI two or three times a year. And have always loved playing this course , but NEVER AGAIN. Owner very rude lady will come chase you down. Never before have we encountered such a display of ignorance. The guys played 18 and the ladies 9 snd she knew this and then chased us down and tried to charge us another $21 for us to go with our husbands. Greens were not that good to boot. Never will we be back to this place until they have new ownership. GOLFERS BEWARE. and byob

Really nice course to play, kind of a hidden gem. If your vacationing in the lower east up and want to play a quality course for all ability levels..this is the one. Great price, course was in great shape for end of August, greens were very playable and some very tricky. Will play again when back in town.

After two years of being closed, the course has been sold and reopened one month ago. The attention to course condition has improved considerably. It has always been a “fun” layout but the greens were slow and that was a limiting factor in having a better experience. The greens are in much better shape, and the cups are placed in more challenging spots that take advantage of the contours of the greens, as well as their generous depth. One can now begin to putt the breaks. The new owners are still working on other amenities but I believe this course will be a nice “secret” by 2023. The rates are very reasonable for the experience. I am a senior who had a 16 handicap until recently. This would be an enjoyable course for those with handicaps above 8; high handicap players will find it challenging but fun. The last four holes raise the toughness level.

One of my favorite coarses in the UP for overall value and experience. The good:Beautifully maintained wide, forgiving fairways and greens. Greens are very true and a bit slow. The price is great, $30 for 18 with cart. Monday's ONLY: Canadian money at par when paying cash. They have a play 5 times, get the 6th free card. It's never been busy when I come (which is during the weekdays, so can't speak for weekends). There is no difficulty getting a walk on.The less good:The club house is old and dated with no real food or snacks other than a small bag of chips or chocolate bar for $1.50.No alcohol sales or real place to sit if you want to take a break between 9 and 10th hole. Also I find the cart policy annoying that you can't take it to the parking lot to load and unload your clubs, and you have to show your drivers license/they record it and you have to sign liability for cart rental.Overall, it's a 45 minute drive from the Sault and well worth the drive a few times a year for a nice golf course and I just bring my own snacks and refreshments if required.

I wasn’t expecting much from this course but was pleasantly surprised. We only played the front 9 but the course was in very good shape, and it’s a fun layout. We will be back in the next few days to play the back nine.
