Always have a stellar experience whenever visiting Island Eyecare. Dr. Narang is respectful, knowledgeable and thorough in her approach. All the staff is helpful and present need based solutions rather than pushing sale. They are appropriately located and environs of the store are welcoming. Keep it up guys!

Before I start, let me say that I am a longtime customer of various eyecare places in BC, since I have a strong prescription and have been receiving help for my eyes since a child. This place has, by far, been the worst experience.Overall, they lacked professionalism and had limited knowledge on their products. They ended up giving me two pairs of glasses that I had ordered on a 2-for-1 sale, which in the end, I returned for a full refund.Having spent multiple appointments at their office over the course of a month, I still felt as though I wasn't given proper help and was continuously having to manage their mistakes. One of the pairs came bent and distorted, while the other pair was not appropriate for my prescription. I was honestly flabbergasted they would be comfortable selling glasses of that quality to their customers - having spent just under $700, you'd think there would be more care to their products. But even after pointing out the faults, their response was that I shouldn't have ordered those frames to begin with, putting the blame on myself. That is only one example of the poor service I received throughout the process.Occasionally, I would call asking for an update, all to discover they had misplaced my order. On multiple occasions, they said that they would update me with a phone call and then not follow through. This became a game with my fiancé and I.In the end, I received no apology or explanation after the refund. That’s what I mean when I say unprofessional and lack of knowledge on their products. No one wants to receive their glasses and see them warped and dysfunctional and then have customer service saying it’s your fault.I take myself as a genuine person. Contrarily, I felt that they were trying to cover up their mistakes. It ultimately became a vicious cycle that was perpetuated by their staff from the top down.had an overall feeling of detached, rushed, and stressed. But please, fix your mistakes - own up to them, so more cases like this won't happen.The one star is for the niceness I received when I first walked into the store. But after I purchased the glasses, the tiring and eventually failed service deemed such a poor rating that led me to believe they cared for nothing more than the original payment.All in all, I’m relieved that I received a refund despite the sour feeling in their establishment entirely.I would highly encourage people to shop elsewhere.AS PER YOUR REPLY, I would’ve kindly came in another time if you were too busy but I was helped anyway.And as for your professionalism, kindness - I felt that I received the opposite. If that was the owner I spoke with, then I am terribly sorry for what his employees deal with because his language was extremely rude and unkind. At one point while asking a question he simply told me “to let him do his job.”As for the refund, I understand that isn’t supposed to happen often, but if it wasn’t for your mistakes, none of the issues would’ve risen. That’s what I mean when I say unprofessional.It’s as if if you’d rather deflect the blame once again, while not addressing any of the real issues that I brought up in my comment. Overall poor customer service.Reading other reviews, it’s clear customer service has been and still is horrible.

Absolutely fantastic. Dr. Narang was extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions patiently and in detail. At no time did I ever feel rushed, even though I had been squeezed in that same day as an emergency patient. Some pretty crazy state of the art examination equipment, too. Absolutely would recommend.

Excellent service even on an extremely busy day. Kind and polite service by all the staff. Dr. Narang and the staff were very efficient and didn't push to buy glasses and said if we're ok with just readers that ok but did suggest the strength needed. Very pleased with the experience.

I went to Island Eyecare for the first time yesterday. I hadn’t had an eye exam in a few years. I am about one year postpartum and I could tell my prescription had changed. Anita (Dr. Narang) and all the staff at Island Eyecare are AMAZING, I never want to go anywhere else. Anita is so warm, friendly, and intelligent. She helped educate me on my prescription and any questions I had. The exam was thorough and efficient. I left with an order for some beautiful new glasses and contact lenses, feeling wonderfully cared for! The front desk staff are bright, positive, and helpful. The office itself is modern and aesthetically pleasing. Can’t say enough good things!

Dr. Narang was incredibly friendly and professional. I felt very at ease and comfortable during my eye appointment. Her staff were professional and helpful. The office was very clean and welcoming. I really enjoyed my experience and will be back again.

Was recently in from out of town, wearing disposable contacts that were well beyond their shelf life and no quick sign of reconnecting with my luggage. I called Island Eyecare, emailed my Rx to them and they gave me a 30 day trial pair of contacts!! Wow! What service and generosity! A great resource for local Victorians and visitors alike! A prosperous New Year to you and your great staff!

To hard to get to, unfriendly Doctor does not use your name, did not look at my past papers. Would not give me a pair of disposable contacts until i could order more. She wanted me to pay for another exam. I wear contacts every day and left with my same issue. She did not care, I only went here because the other places were booked. Where they photo your eye it is noisey because of a machine running beside it. I did not feel that anyone cared about what was going on with my eyes. The Doctor certainly was not open to helping me. All about getting people in and out making money. The only time the Doctor came near me was to wipe the fog off the lense because of them making you wear a mask which is hard having your eyes checked. I felt not helped, now i have to go somewhere else to get my contact issue resolved. It did not benefit me going there because i have no new contacts.If there would have been EYECARE as the name states i would have been helped with my issue. Not so, Very disappointing experience. My random booking for my appointment here was not well picked. I would not advise people to go there. Also the office has a very cold and sterile unfriendly non inviting. Waste of my time as there was no concern of my present eye issue. A person wants to go to a place where there is care for the patient .You wont get that here.

Dr. Anita Narang and all the staff at Island Optometry are incredibly outgoing, courteous, and client-oriented even during the busiest times! I always have a positive experience, whether it's with booking an appointment with the front desk staff, getting some suggestions on a new pair of glasses, or during an eye exam.
