Greenwood Yard

Greenwood Yard is, quite honestly, an eyesore and a waste of public land. It's probably only there because it would cost too much to relocate and the TTC is already underfunded by the Province of Ontario and mismanaged by overpaid executives. The lack of creativity and ethics on the part of the TTC (costing taxpayers an additional $360 MILLION for the Eglinton streetcar line and lost fees) and the Province of Ontario (cutting funding to the TTC) will never let Toronto develop into a truly world-class city.

I enjoyed the tour they gave during Doors Open Toronto a few years ago.

The TTC was awarded 'best public transportation system in North America'. There are some wonderful drivers and associates here. I am a daily TTC rider and question this 'award' what with daily delays, overcrowding as well as slow service. How often have I waited for a bus for long periods of time(in the city) only to have 2 or even 3 buses show up as a convoy. Can they not use common sense to spread themselves out a bit? Why should there be standing room only on subways, buses and streetcars at 10:30pm? It may not be everyone's work hours but some of us don't have 9-5 jobs. Also, people out for the evening not wishing to drink and drive trying to get around via TTC only to find themselves facing long waits and then standing. We see many signs up regarding respect for TTC employees. May we suggest it's a two way street. TTC employees should also show respect to riders. I greet each driver getting on/off. some respond, others totally ignore me. I will not stop greeting and thanking TTC associates as that's not me. And the safety issue has begun to worry me as well. When a situation arises, there doesn't seem to be any TTC employee around to go to. By the time one would use the phone to summons help, it's either too late or the attacker vanishes. Since moving across the street from the TTC subway yard (January 2022), I have been very impressed with their street maintenance, seems to look cleaner than my side. Last winter's snow removal was a sight to behold and thought the city could take a lesson or two from the TTC.This year, with the first snow I am in shock. A worker cleared the snow from the TTC side and dumped it on the other side of road in front of the small convenience store. The high pile of snow is partly covering the bus/bicycle lane and previously city cleared sidewalk. I have watched people with strollers and carts having to wheel mount over the TTC snow mound. Also has become an attraction for some youngsters to climb to top (thankfully none have toppled over onto the road). Very disappointed.

Do you love a symphony of screeching streetcars turning? I once slept on a hardwood floor across the park on northern dancer (unfortunate name for a street) only to be woken at the crack of Dawn with the sounds of 1920. One hundred years later, you'd expect some innovation

Cool spot where they house and fit ttc street cars. You will also see the old fashion street car operates on Sundays and is free.

Great staff, and work so closely with community to beautiful the area.

Terrible place to work, worked here on a student contract for 2 years. First year on afternoon shift was great. On my 2nd year the management screwed all the students over. After a safety concern us students had, we started receiving backlash from management. Off days switched, not treated fairly... And the best of it, 3 of the students including me were given a Do Not Rehire for the upcoming year(s). Reason for me? I left a week early with my Foreman's permission. Got 100% confirmation, booked a flight, 2 days later my supervisor tells me I cannot work for the company anymore cause imleaving early, what a joke, haha.

I'm not sure how this yard really is (in term of noise or stuff like that). But this 5* is for Paul (the Asian guy) at the gate is really funny and kind, keep it positive my guy
