This house is toxic. No air flow. Very unsanitary. The smell hits you like a ton of bricks when you walk in. I have volunteered at so many shelters this by far was the in the worst condition. Cigarettes butts everywhere and litter boxes not cleaned for days. I understand the humane aspect of this shelter however you have to consider the health of the volunteers that step into this home. As much as I loved the cats and giving back. I could not sacrifice my health. Without airflow I don't even know if its safe for the cats to all my in such a congested home. I can't even imagine the illness and germs that travel back and forth from these poor cats.

As far as I can tell this place is closed and the website just a ghost. No way of contacting them they don't reply to email and phone is out of service, Instagram hasn't been updated in 2 years, Twitter hasn't posted in 4 years. Also looking at one of the cats listed they had the kitten in May and as of posting may is next month, so way off in that regard. Kinda let down by thisSame 3 Kittens" still listed 4 month after first post. This is just a tax scam using its charity status as a write off."

Cats here are very friendly & sweet with the volunteers they follow you everywhere, they are free to run & play with no cages , its amazing on how well they all get along and are so happy. Everyone has to helpout and clean and do there part if they want to volunteer, but I understand that because this is a large Shelter and the work needs to be done daily from all of us ,to work as a team .The cats are well cared for, and Mangers are really nice people , only if you screw around and dont do your work , then you are told that this work is put on someone's else if its not done and i agree with this ,because some volunteers go there and stop working when the manager walks away.I give this place a 10 Star Cindy

It is really a shame that I have to make this review, however for the safety of the volunteers I feel it is an absolute necessity. While I am grateful that there are establishments like this that care for these homeless felines, I feel very strongly that the environment is toxic. Janie, the woman that runs this shelter,/rescue, smokes like a chimney inside the home, and curses and screams at the volunteers. When I went to pick up my son from his shift, I could barely breathe for the entire drive home. He smelled as if someone had taken his clothes and use them to wipe the bottom of 40 litter boxes, this is how many boxes are in the home. From what I could see the sick and healthy cats interact freely. This concerns me, as the sick cats can easily infest the healthy ones. Some of the cats are walking around with their tongues out and drooling, While others have puss in their eyes. I prevented my son from returning for his own health.

I was a volunteer at this house and had an extremely negative experience with this shelter. In hindsight, I would absolutely not have chosen this place to volunteer. I am writing this review as anyone who is looking to volunteer or adopt from here has the right to know what they are getting into. The management is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to volunteers. New volunteers are not trained on tasks or given a tour of the house, yet are expected to know how to do all the tasks with same efficiency/expertise as someone who's been there for years AND exactly where everything is located in the house. There is absolutely no patience for new volunteers who are only just learning. I was berated for asking questions relating to my task and was told to figure it out by myself. She then became upset about the the poor quality of work (which was due to the lack of guidance!). I and several other people were also yelled at for working at a slow pace, even though we were new and it was our first time doing the tasks (for which we received no guidance). I did not feel appreciated at all, as someone who was volunteering my time and labour. The entire house is toxic for both cats and people. There is absolutely no ventilation, as windows are shut at all times. This is so that the cats don't fall out and hurt themselves, but this benefit is questionable seeing how poor the air quality is. The entire house carries an offensive odour of cat litter that will cling to your clothes and can be smelled from outside the house. Air quality is made worse by fact that the manager and residents are all heavy smokers. The manager will smoke indoors constantly without regard for the cats or volunteers.Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone. It is such a shame for all the cats who call this place their home.

These cats are not being taken care of. It doesn't seem as though there is much effort to get them adopted. Many have horrible conditions and appear to be in severe pain. Just because they have a licence doesn't mean it's much of a rescue. They don't appear to be able to take care of as many cats as they have, so they should reach out to other rescues or put the cats that are in severe pain down.....in my opinion they are being quite cruel to some. This place is more of a hoarding cat house than a rescue. There are cats crying in pain, drooling due to mouth pain, and in such extremely poor condition it's horrifying. While taking in cats during out severe winters is better than leaving them outside, if you can't take care of the ones in severe pain you need to find a rescue that can, or put them down.....it's cruel to make them suffer so horribly. The woman running this place is highly questionable. The amount of smoking that goes on in this house is extreme, the air is toxic, stale and not refreshed and another reason these cats health is in jeopardy.

I am volunteer at this shelter . I find nothing wrong in there. The sick cats and healthy cats don't interact . There's a separate room for sick cats , were they have been treated well with food , Clean water and medication. The shelter is cleaned everyday . The litter is cleaned everyday both in the morning and the evening. The food bowls are washed and dried everyday before giving the cats Food . I am happy to volunteer at this shelter. These cats are not caged. Janie takes really good care of this shelter and cats . We can learn a lot of from her.

I have been volunteering for almost 6 months now and its amazing!! At first I was difficult and hard but the more you come the more you learn. Volunteers and staff are super friendly!! and the sick cats are kept separate from the healthy cat.

I'm saddened to write this review but I feel that it's important make future volunteers aware. As previous reviewers have said the environment is toxic and hostile. The amount of second hand smoke these cats are exposed to is sickening. Anyone looking to adopt should be aware of the chain smoking that goes on and how this will impact their cats future health, especially given the small size of their lungs. The overall condition of the home was well below what would be expected in a regular shelter. When I decided to leave due to the conditions I was berated and threatened to the point where I feel obligated to post this review. I hope for the sake of the cats that they can get back on track and begin adoptions again but my personal experience here was horrific and I would not recommend it to anyone.
