Dollarama

On Saturday the cashier was very rude because I gave change, I will returning for while, I just shop at Dollar tree, I didn't need to treat like that.

I've been to this location over dozens of times. I've held the entrance door open for seniors almost every time I begin my shopping there. Most times I shop there I have my dufflebag with me and I am never asked to leave it at the front - but for some reason today, June 26 2019, I am hunted down near the back of the store by an employee. She asks me if I can leave my bag at the front. This is interesting because I had already been in the store for about 20 minutes on this visit, I wasn't by myself, and I know I wasn't looking suspicious as I am placing GARDEN DECORATIONS in my grocery basket. I was offended but I remained calm and asked the employee if she can take it to the front for me for I am at the way back of the store. I have no criminal record, I pay taxes, & I EARN my possessions. I hope the employee felt ridiculous after realizing how LIGHT & EMPTY my dufflebag was.Sorry [but not sorry] but this whole scenario seemed racial. This Town of Amherstburg is still as prejudice as it was decades ago - go figure : THIS TOWN IS NAMED AFTER A MAN THAT INTENTIONALLY GAVE BLANKETS RIDDLE WITH SMALLPOX TO ABORIGINALS TO EXTERMINATE THEM. Do some research. ;) God Bless.

They need to have more cashiers on or have a self check out.

Crowded aisle due to restocking staff very helpful in finding merchandise.

Always helpful and friendly

Employees are always friendly, and helpful. Went in today and my son was crying a kind employee gave him a lollipop and made our shopping experience easier.

Each and every time I visit this location the door-assist button does NOT work. I have told staff multiple times about the issue. I conclude that because this is persistent issue that it can only be an ignorance or purposeful act defying the Ontario Disabilities Legislation.

If I could rate this place one star, trust me, I would. I worked here years ago in 2015 when I was only 16 and it was my first ever job. I never called in sick, always showed up on time, etc. Despite all of our hard work, the management constantly treated all of the employees like garbage. Lori, the assistant manager, would constantly make rude comments and degrade the workers. I was called stupid, an idiot, and one time the comments were so mean that they made me cry. A customer had overheard her screaming at me because I apparently wasn't stocking the shelves fast enough. I would rather do a job slowly and properly opposed to fast and incorrectly. Lori would yell at me to go quicker when climbing ladders to retrieve stock off of the aisles. These aisles are very tall and I had never climbed a ladder before this, so of course I wanted to take my time to prevent any injury. The ironic part about this in particular is that Lori was injured from cutting a box towards herself and slicing open tendons because she had not been paying attention. I am not going to do work that I feel uncomfortable doing and I am also not going to rush through a dangerous task. She also asked me to organize wrapping papers (around Christmas time). When it wasn't done to her standards she threw them all on the floor, called me an idiot, and told me to start over. Not to mention one time when there were no customers and she said to me while I was at the register, you may as well smoke a doobie behind the counter if you are just going to stand there".Ed the manager did nothing about this treatment and was even rude himself. I heard stories from my coworkers about how he had refused to give a woman time off for her mother dying of cancer. Both Lori and Ed still are in charge at this establishment and should not be in any sort position of authority. This is not okay and I hope people know this before they give this company any money. Even if it is just a dollar

Great selection, staff are pleasant but the prices are getting out of control. Things are far too expensive. The other dollar store in town are keeping their prices around a buck, but dollarama are now selling a lot of their stuff for around 4 bucks. Just too expensive for dollar store items.

Good selection of items. Quality isn't always the greatest but better than expected
