very good, but I have a few suggestions. 1, I LOVE how the school digitises learning into a open non-linear school environment. It feels nothing like any other schools. The teachers are all nice. But, the space for the class is small and needs to be revamped. I would love to see the classroom for steam and steamX be the size of a normal classroom (and we might need it for next year.) All in all, make the class bigger than I love

I checked the website and needed clarification. A rude & impatient lady staff named Louisa, told me to check the website again! She was given instructions to answer quick and direct inquiries to the website. I did that already, and called for clarification. She said this is a system ordered by management. I asked kindly if there is someone else who can assist, she said they are all too busy. Understaff, poorly managed. I am afraid how they deal with students.Toll free number don’t exist. Im interested in having my kids learn STEAM, but their system is not that favorable. Hopefully this can be improved.

absolutely trash website(see the picture)the system sometimes crashes as well.some questions give you wrong answers while you have to give the answers in certain orders for some questions that actually don't matter with the order of the answer. I wouldn't take online courses again unless I have to get the credits for second language.

Great school and great environment! Teachers are great and nice and they are there 5 days a week. Recommended! Mr. Lepin is the best teacher there.I do think though that the Compass kids need a little more space so we can access the teachers without having to walk a longer way... we are situated in the computer lab area just across the common area for steam x and steam kids, on the second floor. Would be appreciated if taken into consideration:)Edit:I don't know why people are negative towards this school. This is like a university in the sense that the teachers aren't going to baby you through the whole way. If you aren't emailing your teachers or asking for help, its not the schools fault. Currently in grade 12 right now and will be attending KPU next school year.

Will be different depending on the program and people's preferences but before going into steam especially remember this.A frog trapped in a well does not know the ocean.A shark in a fishbowl cannot grow as much as a shark in the sea.

Great concept, but poorly executed. I attempted to study through SAIL a few years ago but found the inconsistencies and errors within the courses, in addition to the slow communication with teachers, to greatly impede being able to work at my own pace. The lessons are full of dead links, old content, semantic and grammatical errors, and errors in lesson continuity.Recently I signed up for a course, thinking things may have improved, but I was unfortunately wrong. Once again, this (different) course reads like it was written by an ESL student or someone that just cut and pasted a bunch of stuff and never proof read any of it. Besides that, some of the content in quizzes, exercises, and review materials isn't even in the lessons themselves, or is in lessons that are in the NEXT chapter, like it's out of order. Sometimes you'll be given different answers for the same question, which brings me to another thing; Learning guide questions were also not proofread. There are cases where you are asked the same question multiple times in the same exercise or page. There are questions or exercises that even have triple negatives in the way they are written, so you spend twenty minutes messing with mental gymnastics just to answer something simple. I also just did a quiz and it didn't even record my answers. There are so many inconsistencies and ambiguities in the content that I am CONSTANTLY having to take screenshots and send emails to the teacher pointing them out in order to understand the content. I am a student, and I should not have to do this. I am not paid for this work that I shouldn't have to do. Then there is also the issue where you have to wait anywhere between a few days to over a week to hear back. This isn't self-paced. It's a disaster that will bottleneck your efficiency and ability to learn. If you have the time, I would recommend in-person education more than this. Someone needs to audit this thing, or they should at least be hiring people to do the courses in order to correct all this nonsense before they publish them.

This is a great school for self-motivated learners. There is a lot of freedom and opportunity to work at the pace you need. While there is far less in-class instruction, the teachers are available to provide help when you need it. The courses I took were set up in a very sequential way with quizzes often so that I could identify when I did not understand something. I was able to work through familiar material quickly but slow down and take my time for more difficult concepts. The math courses (although dry) were detailed, had a helpful review and practice component, and did not leave much room for gaps in understanding. Other courses varied in comprehensiveness (for me some required a bit more teacher support), but I am sure that anyone with a strong work ethic would be able to get good marks in them. Additionally, if you do not already have a sense of it this school will teach you the importance of time management. As for the building SAIL is currently in, it is modern and well-kept. There is plenty of natural light from the large windows and skylights throughout the building. There are walking trails next to the parking lot as well as benches and grassy areas great for lunch on sunny days. Downstairs is a cafeteria with good (but not necessarily cheap) food. Inside the building are many places to sit and work before or after school.- SAIL STEAMX student of two years

I'm a STEAMX student here in SAIL. I absolutely love this school and the people, the teachers, and everything. I wish I can stay longer here. I highly recommend this school if you can self-manage and you are self-motivated.

Great place for students that are motivated and disciplined, capable of managing their time since all courses are self-paced. If not, then it's probably not suitable for you. The study environment is good, albeit small, however they are expanding. Most teachers and staff are very helpful, but you have to seek them for help first.
