Tried to order a bunch of alcohol from Riders pub, Spoke to the manager Tabitha. Rudest service I’ve ever had in my life. Terrible language on her when I asked if she could price match certain alcohol as I was getting a few cases of each beverage.I’ve been told that this place isn’t to kind with customers but I thought what the heck let’s just see. Point proven not a place I will be spending my dollars when getting alcohol for my next event. If the owner is reading this, you need tore-evaluate who’s running your store as they need a lesson on manners and how to tread customers.

First time here and was a bit tricky to find, go upstairs on the left of hockey arena and the pub overlooks the curling rink.Nice atmosphere, great and friendly staff and delicious food.I had the lodge burger and hubby had the steak sandwich which is open faced. tender meat, good french fries and yummy dipping sauce!

Tried this place for the first time today and we were pleasantly surprised. It was smaller than expected but overlooked the curling ring for some entertainment. It was quite busy but the food was good and we enjoyed hanging out for a few hours.

Pub is within the sports complex overlooking curling rinks, It's not immediately obvious where the pub is as the Lodge steak house is there too. A duo called Allegro were entertaining the customers this weekend ( apparently live music most weekends) service was pretty good. I ate the steak sandwich & fries which was excellent, I gave the place 4 stars because it was my first visit I am confident they deserve 5 pending next visit. A very worthwhile evening out for me

We stopped by The Horse & Rider for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It was incredibly busy as it looked like there was a curling tourney. The staff were doing their best but it was pretty clear that they were understaffed (not a big deal, it happens). The food was really good and came out in a reasonable amount of time considering how busy it was. We'll be back to try more off the menu.

Exceptional service from the onset through the night. Their prime rib is amazing and so are the steak bites that are so tender they melt in your mouth. They had a live band that played a couple of sets - being a great touch to the evening.Went and sat on the patio for a special coffee which topped the evening off nicely. If you are looking for excellent service, food, drinks and atmosphere this is the place to go.I can see us frequently going here in the near future!! Kudos!!!

Definitely a hidden gem. Food is always on point, and the service staff and kitchen always makes sure my food is modified in a way that my gluten allergy isn't an issue. My partner is obsessed with the steak sandwhich; gets it every time. I love the mussels and cajun salmon burger. Service is always great, and they always have something happening (music bingo, live music etc). If I'm being picky I'd love some more cider options on their drink menu. Wine and beer menus are decent though.

First off staff here have always been accommodating and friendly. You can order food from the pub menu or the restaurant located directly next door. Some things to be aware of. It can get busy when they’re are tournaments in George Preston arena. Quite often you’ll have individual customers sitting at a table designed for six customers so not great if you’re showing up with a larger group for dinner. Some of the seating has to conform to the layout so some areas you feel like your sitting in the hallway or a revamped recreation centre. There are no exterior windows…not a big deal in the winter but in the summer it has the bunker affect. The food is well pub like the restaurant food on the other is acceptable but a bit pricey for the quality. Would I order the overtop expensive Tomahawk steak? Probably not, it feels risky for the cost/value. I have ordered $45-$50 steaks? Yes and honestly they were okay but just okay a little disappointing if your spouse can make a better steak at home for considerably less. Yes, I have eaten at the Lodge and this a review of the Horse and Ryder but when you can order from the same menus regardless of which location you dine in it’s hard not to merge reviews. By the way my favourite pub menu item is the fish and chips. If you live in Brookswood and you don’t want to drive to WG to The Keg for steak it’s worth checking this place out just ask questions and be fussy if you order a steak and it’s not acceptable for what you paid for. If your looking to have wings and beer and possibly watch the real “Men With Brooms” it’s not a bad local spot.
