Sri Periyava Dosa Bhavan
We ordered Dosa, Sambar Vada and Coffee. All tasted excellent. Only call out was the chutneys were served from fridge I believe as it was very cold, and both the chutneys were not tempered/seasoned properly.1/21:Our 2nd visit here was very average. We ordered Thali meals (with high hopes) but it was very average. The Kootu tasted bitter, beetroot poriyal was a little undone and sambar was very average. I would still visit for their dosas & vada but not for thali meals.

The restaurant lacked any sort of ambiance or atmosphere, which was disappointing. To start with, the service was slow. We ended up waiting for over half an hour just to get our food. When it did finally come, it was clear that the wait was not worth it.The food itself was below average. We ordered a variety of dishes, but they were all bland and lacked any real flavor. The chutneys and sambar were also unremarkable, with no depth or complexity in their taste. The restaurant's attempt to cater to the masses by making the dishes less spicy has resulted in a lack of authenticity.The lack of ambiance in the restaurant was also a major disappointment. The decor was uninspiring and looked like it had not been updated in decades. I'm honestly not sure what the hype is all about.

Go for the food here, it’s good. Giving 5 stars for keeping it authentic flavor, personally I feel menu size is bigger for family run restaurant, keep it short.We went late in the evening during the service on a Wednesday, understandably kurma s was starting to get stale and missed tomato chutney.Truly enjoyed food.

Best authentic South Indian food, especially dosas. They have a wide range of options mainly for vegetarian food. It was our first time visit and the restaurant was full, but didn't have much of a wait time. We ordered cheese masala dosa, cheese tomato onion chilli oothappam, poori and potatoes, cheese cone dosa and filter coffee. The restaurant is a simple setting, with maximum occupancy upto 30 people. The service was good and the food was exceptional. Really satisfied! Dining in would be best way to enjoy dosa.And please, if you are looking for a vibrant and cozy place, this would not be the right place but you will definitely get good food and service.

Sri Periyava Dosa Bhavan
Hands down one of the best Dosa serving restaurants in Vancouver! The dosas are jut oily, the taste and freshness is on point. The masala is great, chutney is brilliant and so is the sambar. I had the idly and Vada and those were point on! The idlis were freshly prepared and so were the Vadas. The only improvement point is the wait time! Maybe they have limited capacity in the kitchen but that’s something the restaurant needs to work on.

Sri Periyava Dosa Bhavan
We visited on weekday at around 8pm. The peak time here is 9pm. Ordered dahi bhalla which wasm't good. But masala dosa and vegetable uttapam were tasty. Service was a bit unorganised and servers can be trained to improve customer service. Place was hygenic.

First time visit. Located opposite the Denny's Restaurant on Scott road and 86 avenue.Food was decent, freshly made and served hot. Service was good.Saw a few items on the menu that are not usually found in regular South Indian Eateries.Chef had come out personally to check on us and ask about the food taste and quality which was a nice gesture.Highly recommend a visit.

The taste was amazing. Though it’s a small place and can accommodate few people, food is always great. If you go on weekends you might have to wait for few minutes. Their dosa, chutney everything is just fine.

Went for Saturday night dinner. We ordered onion rava dosai, podi uthappam, paper roast, podi onion dosa, sambar vadai, coffee, and tea.The paper roast was good.Sambar tasted great. Chutney and dosai reminded simple homestyle preparation.Dosai varieties tasted good.Filter Coffee was not strong.
