BEWARE BEWARE!In March this year my wife and I retired and moved to our cottage full time. In late May I reached out through Rona to buy and have someone install a 22KW Generac standby generator as the power goes out frequently here. I was referred to someone in Burlington but after they assessed my property and provided a quote they told me I could get it done much cheaper with a local electrician through the Generac website as they would not need to do an overnight. I did that and was referred to Knapps Electric.I called and spoke to Rob Knapp who told me to go ahead and order a Honeywell generator (made by Generac) at Costco and that he has done many of these units and felt very comfortable installing it at a fair price. We agreed I would get it now while it was available and on sale and that he would come out the following week and assess the property. He didn’t come and he didn’t call so I called back and we made new arrangements…he again didn’t come when he said would but after a number of days finally dropped by.He assessed the property gave me a ballpark cost and said he would get back to me but they I should go ahead and order 10 yards of gravel for burying the electrical cable…I did this and awaited his formal quote….Left a number of messages and finally got a quote by email which was double his proposed top end ballpark. When I called and told him how disappointed I was with quote and the way he is managing the situation, he ultimately gave me a new plan that was a bit cheaper which I agreed to…after almost another 2 weeks I called to get an update, the next day he left me an email to say that he wouldn’t be doing the work at all.Basically after 2 months of him pulling my chain, we have to go through the whole process again AND we're stuck with 10 yards of gravel and no working a generator in the middle of my garage….. I have been working with contractors all my life and treat everybody with respect and fairness …. I have never had such a bad experience and hope this review will help avoid happening to you.A very unhappy customer

Super unprofessional. We had booked for a quote for over a month to get a generator. We took the day off work expecting someone to show up. Only to have Robv Knapp email us back stating that they could not come by due to their current schedule. Not impressed

We had Robb do an install at our farm. He was quick, professional and tidy. He took care of everything and we could not be happier. He actually showed up when he said he was going to which alone is more than I can say for other contractors I have been in contact with. I would highly recommend Robb and his team and he will be our first choice for future projects.

I contacted Rob after my Generac standby generator issued a battery maintenance warning and a competitor told me it would take six to eight weeks to provide service. Rob came within the week, checked out and corrected my warning status was finished in 10 minutes and did not charge me anything. WOW. True customer service and he is now my go-to-guy for my Generac. 5 stars!

We used Knapp’s Electric to upgrade from a portable power generator to a whole home backup power system. Despite disrupted supply chains, Knapp’s were able to locate a system which met our current and future needs. Robb Knapp and his team provided a high quality solution at a very fair price. We will use them again for any future electrical needs.

Rob is great, removed and reinstalled my generator plus helped me out with my tankless heater and HVAC. Highly Recommend.Debra Spencer
