Nakamura Judo

Great team with a family friendly atmosphere, taught by the best Judo instructor in MB.

My 6 year old son has been attending once a week for about 6 weeks now. He really enjoys learning new skills and the learning atmosphere is very welcoming of all levels. They group the kids according to their experience level. Sensei Nakamura is very patient yet firm so they respect him. It's a good mix of technique and fun at this age. Check out their website for details. I contacted the dojo for some trial classes before committing as my son had to choose between karate or judo and they easily accommodated by lending him a gi.

Instructor was very nice he offers free classes and doesn't pressure you to join ASAP. He always interacts with people with a smile. He also does a good job on explaining judo to us especially begginers like me. Friendly environment higher belts takes time to teach the new ones. I honestly recommend this place and try it out

My both children attend the club for the last five and two years respectively. These classes provide not only with judo techniques, but help them developed physically and mentally because they learn self-discipline, strategical planning, become goal oriented and ambitious. I have only positive feedback and we are lucky here in Winnipeg to have this club. Airton is a big enthusiast of his project and uses individual approach to each student. I highly recommend these classes. The best judo club in Manitoba!

It's a great club. All the people are very friendly and helpful to newcomers. The only reason I'm not going anymore is because I moved away from Winnipeg.

Awesome classes for kids! The instructors are amazing and great with the kids. The skills they learn are fantastic!

When I am in Winnipeg I train solely at Nakamura, the blend of technical instruction as well as randori is unmatched. The atmosphere is like a family and I always feel welcomed by Nakamura and even the members who have over the years grown to know me , they know I come every year for a few days for some good randori ! I’ve seen some of the young judokas grow into phenomenal athletes and the program at Nakamura continues to produce some of the best , but above all the atmosphere is great for any young person and sets such good examples with the many leaders that train at Nakamura. Get your kids into judo and watch them become even better kids and most importantly grow to become good citizens of the world

Very good place to practice. It is open Monday to Saturday (closed on Wednesday's). The sensei is very knowledgeable and the ambient is great.
