I had an unfortunate encounter with a clerk at this location. I walked in and asked if they had a specific dog food. They didn't (that's fine). I asked if they had any recommendations for a dog food that met a certain criteria (I have a dog with a lot of allergies). One of the criterion was that it had to be grain inclusive.Immediately, I was interrupted and spoken over as she went on and on about how there's no science behind that claim and grain free is great and grain inclusive diets only exist because vets push them for their own agendas. So ... you know better than the vets and animal nutritionists and scientists who have dedicated their lives to bettering the lives of our pets? I mean ... that's kind of a bold statement ... I thought maybe if I could get a word in edgewise, I might be able to explain that grain free isn't necessarily the problem, as the issue has been mainly linked with high pea/legume content and she doubled down and interrupted/spoke over me again, continuing on her warpath about how wrong I was.Lady, I did not have the time to debate with you in that moment, but you need to go to Google Scholar (NOT Google ... the distinction is important) and start reading some abstracts from the hundreds of studies that have been done on the subject.Please, for the sake of our pets, stop aggressively and rudely spouting misinformation about topics you do not have the educational/professional expertise to speak on (unless you have a degree in animal health sciences or biology with a specialization in animal nutrition you failed to disclose). Educate yourself with real, peer-reviewed, well documented science. You will see that many studies found that feeding a diet high in pea/legume content caused cardiac abnormalities to appear in previously healthy dogs and that changing the diet to exclude peas/legumes resulted in clinical improvements in cardiac health.It is rude and uncalled for to be speaking down to, and over, customers and judging them for their pet care choices. You have your opinions, I have mine. Keep yours to yourself unless the customer has specifically asked you for them. You are not the sole proprietor of correct information on this planet (nor am I, but at least I've read some science about it).I will not be returning.

I have been coming to this place for years and love it. Everytime I come in they remember what dog food I need even if I haven't been there in months. Customer service is amazing! I will continue to support them for as long as I can! They also have a ton of really great quality brands that are actually good for your pet.

Update: Had our first issue with a product (dog harness broke) and the staff did a great job handling it and getting us a new one! Still highly recommend them.Love this little pet food store. We have been buying cat food here forever and just recently added our dog food. Staff is always friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond to help find the right food for your pet including free samples. Programs are good too... but 12 and get a bag free and Air Miles.

As a new puppy owner I appreciated the direction the staff had given me. It’s been 20 years since our last puppy, their suggestions of what would be beneficial and what could be picked up at later date, had me returning items to their shelves. Thank you for watching out for me on buying, what could have been unnecessary items. A return trip to this location was earned today.

We have been getting our pet needs from here for the last 5 years. I don't generally write reviews. The service though, they go above and beyond. Calling when food is in, knowing when we are going away and will need some extra for the sitter. LOVE the service and over all feel. They care about you being there, and your pets. Highly recommend supporting this business.

Was unimpressed with our short trip into this store. We came in looking for a specific type of dog chew, and the lady helping us said Nope. there's a shortage everywhere". We then walked around the store and I began to ask if they carried the type of food our dog has been on since birth (we have extensively researched grain-free vs high quality grain based food) and I didn't even get out the first word of the brand when she said "Nope. If you want I can find you a better food". Her attempt at pretending she was knowledgeable came across very pretentious and rude and we left the store flabbergasted by her customer service."

We have been buying our 3 Yorkies and 1 Morkie quality dog food, treats, toys, supplements and supplies from Global Pet Foods in Shawnessy for the past 4 years. The only thing Dani (the owner) carries is superior dog and cat foods and this is one of the reason we come here, as well the staff are extremely knowledgeable.We are greeted by the same friendly staff and our pets are always welcome, they also love the little treat they get as a hello.So grateful for the quality Dani carries; one ingredient treats, dehydrated food, superior chews. Forever dogs, forever customers!
