My family and I had been bringing our family pets to this vet for years. For the most part our experiences were fine, but there were a few negative circumstances that resulted in trauma for our pets. That said, one instance in particular has led me to give this review. Something I don't normally do. It has been just under a year since our last dog passed and I am now ready to share our experience about this doctor. Our dog had not been herself for months. She was getting skinnier by the day and throwing up constantly. We brought her to the vet on numerous occasions only to be told to give her rice and were giving anti-nausea meds. When she stopped eating, we spent thousands on test that came back inconclusive. At that point we were desperate for answers. We asked after the x-ray to do an ultrasound – their response was that they had an ultrasound, but it is so old they never use it… After that we asked what can we do, and they just responded with “bring her to an emergency vet then”, since they couldn't find an answer for us. We did. That vet asked for the test results from this vet, which included x-rays. Unfortunately, the x-rays were so blurry because the equipment this vet has is so out of date that the emergency vet had to run them again. We then had to pay another $2000+ to find out our dog had been suffering from stomach cancer for months and had to be put down. As a vet, it is your responsibility to give the best care and have up to date equipment to meet those needs. I would not recommend bringing your dog to a vet that is not able to give the best care in circumstances like these.

Dr. Dieter was fantastic with our 14 year old Maltese, Daisy, and her teeth extraction. We had been at another vet and were not happy with the quote we received ($3400), and it was also taking a long time for them to give us an appointment for our dog. After calling Bronte Road Animal Hospital, we had an appointment for a consultation within 3 days, and a date for her tooth extraction a week from that. We were quoted about $850, and ended up paying $888 - super happy with this reasonable pricing. Daisy is now 1 week post-op and her mouth has never been healthier and she's feeling great. We were also given before and pictures of her mouth which was cool to see. Dr. Dieter really knows his stuff, is completely transparent about the procedure, and was more than happy to explain everything to us. We have now made him our primary vet not only for our dog, but for our cat and our rabbits as well.

Dr. Schmidt and all staff of the vet office are outstanding: very knowledgeable, experienced, caring and compassionate towards all their animal patients and their human companions... I cannot recommend them more highly.

Absolutely 5 ⭐️I highly recommend this place.We live about 80km away but the distance doesn’t matter when it is about our’s dog health. We chose Bronte Road Animal Hospital based on a recommendation and it proved absolutely true.Their level of care and professionalism are unbeatable.

I’ve been bringing my dogs here for 20 years and Dieter and his staff have been consistently wonderful. Very practical in their approach so that you aren’t paying for things that your pet does not need. I recommend them to anyone looking for a vet clinic!

My family has been coming to Dr. Deiter for years. He is great with our pets. We started going to his clinic with our family dog, and now I don't trust anyone else with my cat. He isn't afraid to tell you how it is, he always has your pet's best interest at heart. His staff are also very friendly and helpful when you call in. I recommend all my friends to Dr.Deiter and his clinic. Give them a call, your won't be disappointed.

Great hospital. Dr. Schmidt gives clear pet health advice. He does not overcharge. His sound treatment plan got my senior dog back on his feet and walking again with medicine and supplements.

I would recommend this clinic in a heart beat to anyone. Dr. Dieter is amazing with my fur babies. He has experience and doesn’t do anything that is not needed. The staff are all amazing, super friendly and treat our fur babies with love.

I will always recommend Bronte Road Animal Hospital - they are so caring and straightforward. They always take time to answer questions and put your mind at ease. Dr. Dieter is so caring and gentle and is totally honest with you, I trust him with my babies no question. They are also always on time!!! Yet you never feel rushed out the door! Truly a great Vet.
