Trew Beginnings Clinic

While the reason for me to initiate contact with Trew Beginnings was not because I was seeking to enter a recovery program, but because my doctor left his practice and I needed a doctor to continue managing my chronic pain treatment . From the first day I contacted Trew Beginnings I have been treated with respect and dignity. Dr D Lea is awesome so down to earth and caring . The front staff are kind . I feel if you are someone who has reached the point in your life you are ready for recovery I definitely recommend trying to get into this clinic because if you are serious about your recovery the personal at this clinic will give you all the support and guidance you need to live a life of sobriety.

Since I have been a patient with Trew Beginnings, I have found the staff and owners to always act with professionalism, compassion, and care. When I completed a recovery program three years ago, I found myself nervous to re enter the community freshly sober and with no real safe guards for relapse prevention. I was fortunate enough to find a great clinic that has such a welcoming and safe atmosphere, as my past experiences with this type of service was not all that great. My heart is full of gratitude for the lovely family, Trish and Taller, who own and operate this establishment.

Trish, Taylor and all the staff at Trew beginnings are truly amazing. The love and support they show every person that walks through the door is so heart warming. Highly recommend this clinic for anyone looking for support in recovery

Awesome clinic, amazing people. I have been to 5 or 6 different clinics within a ten year period, and Trew Beginnings was hands down the very best. Trish and Tay and the doctors were very helpful, caring, and were instrumental in my recovery. I am very grateful for Trew Beginnings and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for recommendations!

I have had the pleasure of working with the team at Trew Beginnings Clinic, alongside Doctor Denise Lea. For years, I have been referred from one office to the next, flowing through the revolving door in which is the addictions and mental health systems that are in practice in Canada. Unfortunately, struggling with these aliments myself comes with a stigma which has been widely exercised during my decade in and out of health care systems. For years, I avoided doctors and thus postponed working on bettering myself due to avoiding the judgement and dismissiveness I believed I would ultimately experience. Until coming to Nanaimo and experiencing the kind and forward thinking, personal experience I have witnessed at Trew Beginnings, I had become quite cynical. Dr. Lea has acted as a mentor, a visionary, a friend, a counsellor, an instructor, and most of all with a strong sense of moral obligation and integrity to help a population in which in other terms have been largely ignored- including myself. The vibe" at the clinic is that of non-judgemental understanding

They always do whatever they can to help me out and feel right at home when I have to go to the clinic.... Plus I feel they go above and beyond to help out all their patients. And they made the transition from my old doctor's office, to there office as easy as it could be..... ( With no judgment at all ) So what I'm trying to say I guess is, there just all around great people and awesome professionals to work with.....

I've been shown understanding and compassion. I can honestly say Dr Lea is the best doctor I've ever had.Trish and Natalie have been just amazing. If you have addiction issues with opiates you should come here. Oh and I never ever give 5 star's because a wise woman once told me ( I was being evaluated at work ) John I can't give you 5 star's because no one's perfect. I've given Trew Beginnings Clinic my very first 5 star's. Oh wait sorry I have given one other 5 star review.

Trew Beginnings totally go above and beyond for their patients. I always was treated with such respect, they aided me by putting me on a treatment plan and I am happy to say that today I am 2 years clean. This would not have been achievable without help from Trish, Taylor and the staff at Trew Begginings. I walked in the doors there a completely different person than I am today
