Champlain Manor Retirement Residence

I would like to thank the kind staff at Champlain for their commitment and support of my Dad in the last challenging months of his life. He was always grateful for the attentiveness and cheerfulness of all who attended him. Our family had a very positive experience with the Manor.

My Mom spent eight years at Champlain Manor and never complained once about anything. Mom enjoyed the activities, food, and ambiance of the Manor. Her room was always clean and tidy and her linens were changed regularly. When family came to visit, the staff were always helpful and busy doing their job. When nursing staff was needed, Mom was well looked after. We always loved the homey feeling with the rugs and beautiful dining area. I feel that we were very fortunate to have found Mom, Champlain Manor, to live out her years until she was 100. Thank you to administration, front desk staff, nursing staff, patient care staff, custodial staff and volunteers. It is peaceful to know that Mom was happy.

i got a sinus infection within ten minutes of being inside.... the smell was atrocious as were the living conditions..... i wouldn’t let my dog stay there.....the outside deck was also in shambles and a tripping hazard at best.shame on management.....

5th Booster given to these poor residents and they are dropping like flies. 9 ambulances attended and 2 already dead. What do you think they told the families of the deceased? Not an adverse reaction of the vaccine I can tell you that. I hope those families sue. I hope the nurses and staff that administered the shots get sued and fired as well. Anyone giving the vaccine" to otherwise healthy seniors deserve to be fired."

I cannot say enough good things about the staff and care that is given by the Champlain Manor Orillia. My 94 year old mother was admitted after falling, she fractured her shoulder, ribs and collar bone. The staff treated her with the upmost care, always checking on her frequently. They answered her bell promptly when she called them, administered pain meds whenever she was due, made sure that she was clean and as comfortable as possible. The nursing care was excellent. Mom is is a rather picky eater was very happy with the food.I am a nurse, I appreciate how all of the staff of Champlain Manor came together to give my mom such good care as she tried to heal from the fractures.

The PSWs are great, nurses also extremely helpful. The food is unfortunately terrible. I understand that it’s not a restaurant but they need to offer more than salad sandwiches as an alternative for eating. Egg,, salmon, chicken, and overdressed salads are not helpful when hungry fora person who cannot eat mayonnaise or miracle whip.Allergies to things normal people eat all the time. Pork and Turkey aren’t the only things that everyone eats.

So happy we found this home for my Father. Great food. Great staff. Great accommodations.
