Refined elegant atmosphere and a foodie’s delight. We were lucky enough to get reservations just a day ahead of our Sunday visit. On a return trip, we will make them well in advance. We shared the spring greens, croutons & anchovies to start with a bottle of rose. We next tried the Salt Cod Fritters & French Fries. If they had brought a bushel basket of the fritters, we would have tried to eat all of them. Not kidding, these are seriously amazing. We were eyeing each other over the last bite and I am pretty sure I am alive only because of letting my wife have it. We had already decided to share the Grilled Whole Trout with New Potatoes, Dandelion & Hazelnuts. The Dandelion pesto was light and a perfect match with the trout. It was amazing. Highly recommend coming here.

The stars aligned when we got the last seating of the night and had one of the best meals of our lives. If you find yourself in Lopez do not miss the chance to dine here! Come early and often.

Gorgeous, perfectly prepared food. Delightful staff. Beautiful space with views of the water. Creative mocktails. Felt content, peaceful, unhurried. The gnocchi was large and tender with a light cream sauce and (radish?) sprouts. My favorite thing was actually the bread (local sourdough) with yeasted (nooch) butter. O-to-the-MG.

The most amazing and special experience. The setting, staff, service, and food was all phenomenal. Fresh, local ingredients beautifully sourced, prepared, and presented. Our meal was delicious. We were able to try the butter poached halibut with turnips and pea vines, gnocchi with squid and kimchi, and cod fritters with fries. The cocktails were also delightful. Cannot recommend Ursa Minor enough; a must visit if you are on Lopez Island!

What can you expect from a restaurant named after a constellation in the Northern Sky on an island of 29.81 square miles? How about the best dining experience! We were there on March 31. It is one of the best dinners in our memory. In the end, we all wanted to come back for more even this place is 3000 miles away from the East coast and you had to take hours of driving and ferry from Seattle to here. But it's worth it!We especially love their broth of land and sea". The soup is rich in flavor and it brought up the warmth from early and sea. I also love their 24-hour carrot and the pork belly was unique and the most delicious dish. Don't miss it."

While it was a lovely experience, and the oysters were incredible, staff knowledgeable, and the mission committed to local ingredients, we didn't end up loving our main dish. However, it was one fish dish - hopefully we'll be back to try again later. And bathroom was outside (totally fine) but not well kept - strange stain in the side of the stall.

As far as I know, one of the best restaurants in northwest, truely focusing on local/seasonal/natural food experience in cozy atmosphere. They have various cooking approaches (raw, cooked, pickled, dried, fermented preserved etc.) based on the status of local, almost daily-changing ingredients (ripe/unripe, young/aged etc.), also Chef Nick Coffey, a really good man, is greatly familiar with fermentation techniques and you might find something fermented (and of course, tasty!) on your dishes.Thank you so much Nick and all, really appreciate your great works!

Truly a world class restaurant on Lopez Island. I live in Los Angeles and make a point of coming to Lopez every year and each time I make a reservation for Ursa Minor. Every meal I’ve had here has been incredible and the staff is top notch. Great wine and cocktail program too.

Spectacular food in both taste and presentation with a focus on local ingredients. What I especially liked about the food was that the freshness of the ingredients really shone through. The halibut, the chicken, the vegetables were seasoned and sauced in a way that didn't overwhelm the palate.
