Denatured Lab

I came with two friends to a perfume session. It was so much fun and so informative. We all left with a signature scent that we love. I have spread the word to family and friends and will be back in to create a spring scent. Thank you for bringing your expertise to Winnipeg! Truly a one of a kind experience.

I attended the Create Your Own Perfume Workshop back in December with some friends. After a NUMBER of messages and emails trying to contact Tom, I still have not received the 50 ml bottle that was promised.... or a refund....or even a reply! Very upsetting!!

My boyfriend and I did a custom perfume session for our anniversary and absolutely LOVED it!! Tom was incredible — so nice, so knowledgable, and so welcoming! He helped us create scents that we love on ourselves and on each other. Not to mention the space is just beautiful. Would HIGHLY recommend :)

My partner and I went for a perfume creation session and it was fantastic! Thomas was very helpful and his expertise really showed. And the scents we got to take home are spectacular!

Bought a perfume experience for a friend and we loved it so much, she bought one for me! Tom is so knowledgeable and passionate about scents, I learned so much and found it fascinating. I was nervous about making my own scent, but with Tom's process and gentle guidance I went home with a perfume that I love. There is also a lot of cool merchandise to browse through and his own creations that smell incredible. Highly recommend booking a perfume creation session!!!!

I went to Denatured Lab for the first time as part of a birthday party and I can confidently say that I had a great time. Tom was very easy to communicate with prior to the event and was extremely hospitable along with his team the entire night. They were very patient with all our questions and providing help when needed during the open workshop session. On top of all of that, we were able to stay afterwards to hangout and enjoy each others company. Rae, Denatured Lab’s photographer, also happened to stop by during the night and took some amazing shots of our group, which I’m sure we’ll cherish for memories. We learned lots about fragrances, got exposed to a very large scent collection, were able to challenge our creativity, and overall had a very unique workshop experience. This experience is definitely for those who enjoy fragrances, those who are creative, and anyone willing to try something new. Thank-you Tom and team, I look forward to stopping by again in the future!

Tom is an incredible host and excellent wealth of perfumer knowledge. I attended his workshop with my friends after a glowing recommendation from our AirBnB host. And let me tell you, you won't regret a night at Denatured Lab. We started the night off by smelling three scents and sharing what we smelled. We learned about base notes and talked about the kinds of smells that we liked, loved and loathed. After this, Tom pulled so many scents for us, and let us play around by combining two, three, even four to create delicious and complex scents. It was such a joyful experience, and made so much better by Tom being so sweet and welcoming. I loved all the signature scents we created (it would have been cool to give little samples of our scents to each other I thought after the fact) and have attached a photo of mine. Every scent is a story and I look forward to storytelling with my new scent for a long time. Thank you, Tom, it was a pleasure!

EDIT:Unfortunately having to edit my review because my friends had last minute cancellation, and did not get updated with new location. Refund was agreed upon (within 2 days) but they still have not received it after 2 weeks and will likely need to file chargeback with credit card provider. Contact with Tom through email has been very difficult (no replies), as he did not provide any phone numbers either. Super disappointing.

Denatured Lab is a beautiful addition to the Exchange District. I went to the molecules and mixology event and was so impressed with Tom's knowledge on scents and perfumery. I had so much fun blending my own custom scent! I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique and interactive experience- it would be a standout date night! The selection of products in the shop is also amazing - candles, bath & body products, incense, mixology tools, and other curiosities that make great gifts. I'll definitely be back.
