The Lobster Pound is my favorite restaurant in the CBRM. Every dish I've ever had has been amazing. A reservation is a must. The servers are all excellent and very attentive. There is a variety on the menu, but I personally recommend anything sea food related. EXCELLENT restaurant - highly recommend.

We drove 45 minutes out of our way to eat here and it was well worth it. The staff was so friendly and the food was amazing!!! One of the best meals we had during our vacation. The muscles were huge and the stuffed pasta was delicious after driving all day in the rain. The chef/owner was so personable and shared some lobster art with us. Beautiful view of the ferries right outside the windows.ust make reservations.

Exceptional service and food. We ordered the chowder, lobster wontons, fish n chips and roast chicken dinner. Everything was so fresh and tasty. The servers made sure we were well looked after and the chef came and spoke to us and other diners making sure everyone was enjoying their dinner. A great end to our trip in Sydney. Make sure you make reservations.

This is a review of the adjacent food truck, the Half Pound, which is arguably serving up some of the best food in the CBRM. We tried the tuna tatare burgers, one with fries and one with pasta salad. Everything was outstanding. The tuna tatare was generous in portion and perfectly cooked rare. The fries were crispy and the pasta salad tangy delicious. Service was friendly and helpful. And bonus points for using compostable takeaway containers!Note that it’s cash only and they have a couple of picnic tables behind the truck for al fresco dining. Highly recommended.

Took my husband for his birthday. This is by far one of the nicest restaurants in Cape Breton. Staff were super friendly, took there time to explain each dish, restaurant was bright and clean. The food was to die for, We orderer the Lobster Wontons and two of the days specials... It was melt in your mouth! I didn't get a photo of the wontons because we couldn't stop eatting them long enough. My new favorite place.Thank you for the wonderful meal,From Melissa #2 Aha

I love the decor, very on point for this restaurant. The service was great, from the moment we stepped in to the time we left. But the food.... It's just incredible. It was only my second time here, but it's a real treat. I know it's a seafood place by name, but those Thai (I think?) wings are my favourite and the lobster club was humongous and well enjoyed. I was very full but had plenty of leftovers to take home, and even that was made up all fancy.

The Lobster Pound and Moore
We first visited lobster pound and Moore in their old location, on our trip to Nova Scotia last year (we are from Vancouver, BC). The food and service was fantastic, so when we decided to visit the Atlantic coast for the fall colors, we made sure to make another reservation!I really enjoyed the scallops - they were cooked perfectly and the citrus based sauce really complemented, and my partner's steak was Smokey and flavorful (he says this is the most delicious steak he has ever had). We shared the honey lemon cheese cake, it was a delightful balance of sweet honey and the slight saltiness of the cheese cake.Be aware this is a busy place so reservations are a must, especially before October. Also, this is not a family restaurant, so don't bring kids under 12 and expect to be accommodated.We have really enjoyed both our visits, and will continue to return anytime we are in Nova Scotia!

The Lobster Pound and Moore
I am from North Sydney but have lived in AB for almost 17 years so this evening was my first visit. Went with family and friends for dinner and it was a lovely surprise. Atmosphere was great, the service was on point, and the food was absolutely delicious. The amount of food given definitely is worth the prices. I will be making this place mandatory stop when I come home for a visit in the future.
