A bright, creative space that lends itself well to showcasing Hamilton Artists and building community. Karen’s passion was not dampened by the diligent safety protocols! We were most comfortable.

A very fun and creative evening! My cousin and I treated our mum's to a girls night out. Karen was a great host and walked us through Abstract styles and techniques - encouraging us to find our own unique methods. It was challenging compared to the typical art night where you all paint the same thing, but we enjoyed the experience and learned a lot about sketching, mixing colours, finding inspiration and cultivating creativity. I would highly recommend doing a class with Karen!

One of the best explanation ever

Karen made the evening so much fun. Haven't laughed so much in a long time. Whether you're going as a group of friends, a family or a romantic evening she can make it happen for you.

My best friend and I had such a fun time with Karen at a Date Night class (note: she also has afternoon time slots!). Her studio gallery is lovely with fab works by local artists, and she's excellent at explaining technique and encouraging you. Can't wait for another session!

I am generally not one for writing reviews, but have chosen to write one (very late I might add) since I think it would be helpful for those who might look to try the painting experience offered by Studio K2. Full disclaimer - although I consider myself a creative person I would not say I am artistic person. My husband would say he is neither creative or artistic, but Karen (studio) owner was convinced that we would be able to conceptualize and paint a piece of art TOGETHER that represented a theme we agreed upon reflecting our relationship. I decided to make it a surprise date night since I didn't know if my husband would go for it. He was definitely surprised and I was even more surprised that we left with a beautiful and FULLY FINISHED piece of art that means something special to us (now hanging in my office). The 2 hours went by really quickly (in a good way) and I think it comes down to how it was broken down. Karen explained the process (not limited to just painting) and set up the studio so we each had some space to practice drawing before we put paint to canvas. A blank canvas is a bit daunting so it was great to do some test runs on paper, plus she gave lots of instruction on how to start, different techniques and how to mix colours. I think what sets this apart from other paint nights is that you leave with something completely unique and get to learn some cool artsy stuff in the process. I would highly recommend this experience for anyone - experienced or not. There's enough instruction (without being intrusive) to get you there regardless of level of experience. Also, lots of cool art from Karen and other artists in the space. My husband actually ended up getting my Christmas gift from there at a later date.

We had the pleasure of visiting studio K2 during the opening weekend. The K2 Team worked hard to ensure a physically distanced and safe experience for everyone. The studio is spacious, bright, welcoming and beautifully designed. Karen is a very talented artist with a collection of inspiring paintings. In addition to reviewing Karen's collection, we also enjoyed having an opportunity to meet and see the works of other local artists as well. The range of individual, team building and creative workshops that studio K2 has available to bring out the creative spirit in everyone will surely be a hit.
